i lost 3 family members and my best friend in a month and i just didn't care and lost and alienated everyone. lowest point was losing my scholarship and getting in trouble with the law. That was three years ago what i learned is that it will never go away but cherish all the moment to laugh and smile it might not lessen the pain maybe just a little be with people that care. If push comes to shove go to a mental hospital i know it may not suite u i sure didnt but they gave me the help and medication to deal. It also helps knowing other people in the same situation so we could help everyone else. The object is to not forget but to cherish and move on as best as possible.TALKING DOES HELP! Hope you get through it.

only when you transmit positive thoughts to your 'god' otherwise its just getting caught in a negative thought cycle of 'why god why did you do this'

and then you begin wondering when god will really help you. don't grieve to your god. that will not help.

Major, I'm sorry for your loss. I know its hard, but venting on here is a good first step. in the next few months, please don't hesitate to talk about it amongst your family and friends - it will help with the healing process. I'll say a prayer for you and your family for strength and peace during this hardship. God bless.

sorry for your loss I can only imagine. Don't do anything you wouldn't want your family to grieve about and see someone right away. Stay strong and you always have your CF brethren to talk to.

This is great advice. Face-to-face communication about this is very important.

Losing somebody close to you is the worse thing in life. There's nothing worse than that. You better believe I'm going to be hysterical. Take it down and be strong. It's going to happen to everybody. Make him happy and you're family . This Christmas Day I was doing karaoke singing desperado so happy, then I realized there was somebody missing. I gave a speech on how much I missed him and asked if someone could share a story about him. We were all just much closer and stronger. Till this day I quote him. I wouldn't got this far without him in my mind.

Sorry for your loss, but look around and see how your loved ones are suffering now and that should be reason enough. They need you now more than ever. Stay strong.

    sorry for your loss.

if your brother was in your shoes what would he want you to do? it sounds like he was a good guy, so i'm guessing he would want you to keep living your life to the fullest.

How about living enough for two...? Live a rich life for him... Have his memory live through you...

What a horrible thing to happen, and what a waste of a young life. Nothing any of us can say will really help. I still miss a cousin, who was also my best friend, and he died 30 years ago in a senseless accident. You won't forget your brother, and you will never lose that empty spot in your life, but time will help. Talk about him with your relatives and friends, your contemporaries. Don't be shy about seeing a grief counselor, if you feel that you can't handle what happened. God knows what your parents are going through. Helping them, if you can, will also help you. Good luck, and I am very, very sorry that you are all going through this.

You deserve better help and insight than anyone here can provide. I hope you are able to get to a trained therapist to work through this.

I can't imagine how difficult this is....but stay strong. It's trite, and I apologize for saying that, but people need you. Your brother probably didn't want his pain to take you down. Honor his memory with your strength.

People that don't even know you are thinking about you and wishing you the best. Stay safe.
