I think McHale would say, "Give me more talent." We need it esp. on the bench.

As the team is designed, if Asik were playing on the 2nd unit, we would have a formidable defense. And the way we shoot 3s and Lin is able to playmake, if all goes according to plan, we would be a more consistent team.

First, it was integrating Howard into the team and figuring out what to do with Asik. Then we were hit by a series of injuries whose effects are lingering up to now.

If we have a healthy team, we would be very good. Maybe not enough talent to take out Heat, Pacers, and Thunder, but we would be near-contender status.

Knowing Morey, he will try to upgrade the team by Feb trade deadline. We definitely need a back-up center. We need to preserve Harden's ankles, maybe sit him a game or two from time to time. He needs to get back to being explosive, like tonight. We need a playmaker for the bench unit, whether it's Lin or somebody else. We need to get Bev back healthy.

McHale is doing a good job. Young players are learning the laissez faire offensive system. It takes time.

You look so cool and knowledgeable defending coach job... No.

    At least show your arguments.

Tonight's game to me is one of those that make you realize what this team could be with a better preparation from coaching + Asik + Beverley. The roster has all necessary pieces to go for a championship, but as a team, we are sadly what we are. A team absolutely dependant on his offensive inspiration, with no collective resources to respond against the difficulties proposed by an elite opposition.

A team that keeps showing at all wins and loses, a very deficient tactical preparation... A strength that any legit contender must have regardless of the global talent of its roster.

What did James have in the fourth quarter? 11 straight points? Yeah, he is the man.

The base problem is that in that starting lineup there are not enough shots to go around. Bev needs fewer shots than Lin. But hey, it works. Nuff said.

McHale is still average at best. We mostly win on talent.

But it's 5 vs 4 on offense. Everyone helps off Bev because he is no threat. Lin keeps the defense honest and gives more freedom to Harden and Howard.

Rockets have the offensive firepower to purely outscore their opponents, and they should use it. Defensive specialists should only be used sparingly.

If Bev was a true DPOY caliber player, I would say ok let him start. But he really isn't that great. THe more he plays, the more he gets scouted, the more he gets exposed. He is not a secret weapon anymore. He is mostly just a crap offensive player so everyone exagerates his defense.

no the issue is getting the best shot from the open person. harden needs to realize that sometimes when his shot is not falling that he can be a distributor. you take bev out and all you're saying is that harden has the green light.

btw, lin averages 9.1 shots per game. bev averages 8.3 shots per game. that's less than one shot difference per game.

McHale's coaching prowess can be summed up by the fact that he took a timeout while we were on a 13-2 run.

Because t jones was hurt! wow some of you people really don't watch the games at all. Did you notice how Jones coming out the timeout wasn't in the lineup and getting worked on by a trainer he didn't even make it to the huddle he was hunched over at half court. So is it far to say your fan hood can be summed up by the fact that your a dumb ass that jumps to conclusions?

Beverley hits open shots. He's a spot shooter. It doesn't matter that he isn't handling the ball because Parsons partially plays a point forward role.

Our coaching is still mediocre at best. Jones back tightening up makes me wonder what types of work outs and drills our players are doing with the coaching staff.

I mean we have 3 guys with back problems namely parsons, lin, and now jones. I understand injuries are part of the game, but injuries on the same area by multiple players?

I am wondering if it's with our drills or the extended playing time we give to our starting line up that causes this back problems.

I hate to say it but if somebody else has back issues in the coming weeks, i'd be concerned a whole lot more.

No, McHale is still below average. The R&R offense is an excuse for no better ideas, and purely builds on the talent. Thus, the team is underachieving and will not get out of the 2nd round in the PO.

It's funny how coach gets blamed for every bad thing and no credit for anything good that happens. I wonder how many people here actually played and/or coached basketball at any level. It's human nature I guess to always blame everything on the guy in charge.
