    is grudge match.

I know Anchor Man 2, and American Hustle will get their audience, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Grudge Match in the mix at the box office. Am I alone here?

Quite alone. In addition to those two, you also have Walter Mitty opening today, as well as Leo and Hanks releases, plus a new Disney movie and the Hobbit still going strong. Grudge Match is going to take a first round TKO.

This reminds me of when a friend of mine told me he was shocked at how bad Killer Elite was. Really? You were shocked? You couldn't tell it was a POS from the commercials? Then you deserve to lose your $12; you are a fool.

What, you deserve the disappointment you're about to have.

If you haven't even seen the movie, so you're basing your opinion on what somebody else tells you is going to be good or bad.

I base my opinion on what I, not somebody else, likes.

Let me, for comparison's sake, give you MY review of American Hustle, which was 94% liked by critics.

Aside from the fact that this film had no originality, a few things I thought were terribly stupid choices to make in this film:

    1. You have one of the best character actors of our time and an extremely gifted actress and you choose to spend 45 minutes of the film in voice-over exposition. This is highly egregious, but what is even worse: 94% of critics found no flaw in this. Really?
    2. Half way through the movie, I already knew what was going to happen at the end, but the filmmaker, to give the audience their money's worth spends the entire second half of the film in contrived set pieces: the obligatory "freak out" scene. The killing in cold blood scene to show a "character point."
    3. The only truly developed character in the whole film was Jennifer Lawrence's character, and she pretty much stole the show until the director decided it was time to end the film and "explain everything."
    4. The music montage. And another music montage. And another music montage.
    5. The Saturday night fever walk, which had no purpose but to point to itself as a film of a certain ilk.

So forgive me, if I would rather go see a movie that doesn't "pretend" to be this high-minded film, when all it was was an amalgamation of Scorsese's Casino and gangster films.

So when is Rudy Gay going to show the world he's on Kevin Durant's level?

I agree. But when the previews look bad then the reviews also stink then I typically pass.

what didn't you like about the previews?

and by the way, even if I did or didn't like the previews, using them for anything more than just getting a taste of the story, is pretty deceiving to say the least.

many films (especially blockbusters) construct an entire film around getting a strong preview and they can edit that preview the same way a girl on eharmony can edit her profile picture. If I though a story seems interesting I'll go see it, but the previews tell me little to nothing.

So wait, you ask for people's opinion on the movie's box office potential then get offended when they (unanimously) disagree with yours?

Did anybody give me the box office potential, or did I get: well, what you just took a giant **** on humanity.

How could anybody be offended by that?
