    We are definitely short handed.

    No Harden, Asik, Bev.

Also Garcia and Cassipi are giving us nothing most nights. Lin needs to shoot more. He scored twenty on ten shots. Give him the green light till James is back.

    It's not an opinion.

If you want the Rockets to win, you are a Rockets fan.

    FACT.

Seems as good a definition as any.

I hope Harden is back for the next game.

    I do too.

    Glad Lin is back.

He needs to work on the assists to turnover ratio.

the funny thing is people follow players. i came here as a uconn alum to follow jeremy lamb who's now at OKC. i still watch him but i became attached to this team while he was here and really wish we could have kept him. yes people do come to teams based on what players get traded there. but this is the 1st time i've seen people make such a fuss over it.

not sure why everyone is so surprised dirk did what he did. all you have to do is google many of the previous games against the mavs and for most part he has good games when he plays the rockets and his shots fall when he plays us.

the only way the rox can stop dirk from going off on them is to sign him as a player and they tried that also and it didn't work.

Lin is hated because he gets too much love for being a bench player. His fans are super annoying, more annoying than the haters who troll and pretend to be his fans. Also any poster joining after 1/1/2012 is a Lin fan and their opinion is worthless.

Lins contract is ridiculous for a bench playing scrub and takes away prime cap space which could be used to sign marquee free agents like [insert any free agent earning less than 9 million per year].

Lins haters aren't really Rockets fans anyway because who would hate a player who is playing for their team?

exactly, I came here when Yao did because at the time I was in college, didnt really have money for league pass and it was the place to go to see how he's doing, updates, game highlights on youtube etc. THen I stuck around cause I grew to like the Francis/Mobley, Bob Sura, Juwan Howard then TMac, Battier, Scola etc.

Back to the game, if coming into it, I told you Ellis/Calderon would combine for 33 points on 10-28 shooting and Brooks/Lin would combine for 38 points you would've signed up for that in a hearbeat.

Problem was Dirk, who's averaging 20 pts a game scored an extra 50% above his normal average.

Well I said this before. The only way Lin will improve that is if he plays as the main ball handler/distributor, or atleast a lot more than he has this season. It's not something you can learn by just watching tape or on the practise court.

These are elite level decisions made in split seconds under the heat of in game pressure. There's no way to replicate that anywhere else. I'm not sure the rockets are the right place for him to work on developing that part of his game since we need to win now.

The same reason that perhaps Terrance Jones is not the answer. Three years from now? maybe.

No the problem was open 3s all night and Lin thinking he's Yao Ming and guarding Dirk multiple times. Poor rotations , offense seems lost at times when they can't shoot the 3 and penetrate. I mean watch how the Spurs or even Indiana/Miami plays. Could you imagine having Tony Parker or Ginoboli guarding Dirk? Its insane and Pop wouldve gone on a rampage but McHale acts like Lin is fine, Hardens D is amazing, Beverely is Chris Paul, and everything is peachy. The right coach would adjust in game to the game so its just sad since the Rockets should be so much better.

There are good turnovers and there are bad turnovers. From actually watching the game, I saw only one bad turnover, maybe two from Lin. One of his turnovers was on TJones. Running a PnR with TJones, Lin was double-teamed and TJones rolled to the basket when Lin was expecting him to pop out because there was no passing lane on TJones' roll to the basket. A more experienced screener would've seen that and popped out. Or, a more experienced screener would've rolled hard to the basket, but TJones hesitated which made Lin think he was going to pop out. If TJones had rolled hard to the basket, the other wing would've seen the double and slid over to the top of the key to help out. Lin's first TO was trying to go for a home-run pass in the first quarter that Marion picked off with his freakish wingspan. That's a good aggressive TO. Parsons had some good aggressive TOs in the 4th as well. Driving to the basket and getting stripped - that's a good TO. Dwight having it stolen by a guard while he's posting up - that's a TO on Dwight, but that's on the wings who should be calling that double out.

My point is, you can't just look at the box score and say player X had Y TOs so he was terrible and careless with the ball. Everyone has good and bad TOs. If Lin can keep his bad TOs limited to one or two per game, I'd be happy with that.

RE: Lin's low assist numbers. Lin had to pick up the slack in scoring because of Harden's absence, so he was looking to score more than create. He did not run enough PnR with Dwight, as the strategy lately has been to just feed it into Dwight in the post. assist numbers on a game-by-game basis can be misleading too. According to the box score, Garcia had 6 assists. For anyone that actually watched the game, did it look like Garcia was a playmaker on the floor?

Mchale seems to have no sense of what's going on within a game.

I see other coaches make adjustments in their rotations or make adjustments in how they are playing...we seem to just bang our head against the wall until it either works...or doesn't.

I like mchale and sometimes I'm glad he's our coach, but if they fired him I wouldn't complain.

The team missed James Harden, Patrick Beverley and Omer Asik. It's as simple as that.

Having to spend Christmas up here in Indy (and the battering has not stopped - although I did get to see the Indy v Bos game and was glad that deal didn't go thru) I'm shocked by this boards attitude as a whole. I'm in hostile territory and expect to come here for some damn home cooking. But what do I get? Family that constantly b****ing. I'd rather stay here in Indy and get battered by Pacer fans than read some of the crap here.

As much as I want to stay young in my thinking you guys are turning this old man off to your constant b****ing and never ending debate of one f***ing player.

Good grief. Enjoy the side show.

Who cares? It's just a basketball game. I could tell things weren't going to hold up and go our way at half...so I turned it off. Out of sight...out of mind. The Mavs got their injured players back and we got more players injured. I knew it wasn't going to be pretty going in.
