This is a silly question. Lowry/Brooks now vs Lin/Bev or Lowry in the 10-11' season? People forget Lowry was never that great of a shooter, and seem unhappy all the time. I am not even sure why his name is even brought up these days. The guy never played 82 games in any season with us, never won a damn thing, never even contributed anything of significant but yet he's a living legend here. I didn't post back then, but read a lot of the post and don't remember him being praised all that much.
Thank you for saying that! He got a lot of criticism for his poor shooting back in the day and he had plenty of games that left more to be desired. But it's all the mind's way of saying the grass is always greener on the other side...
Lowry/Gogi or Gogi/Lowry was without a doubt our best PG tandem. It's too bad that this would've never worked out though because both players were so good that it just wouldn't be fair for one to start over the other. It would be understandable if either player became disgruntled. I do believe Rockets could've successfully made Gogi/Bev possible because both guys are extremely humble. I watch pretty much every Suns game or parts of it when my team is playing. All i know is we shouldn't be putting Dragic and Lin in the same sentence. It's painful. And the guy that said "let me introduce you to our future GOAT Marcus Morris", was on to something. Ok, maybe not lol but the boy has been balling his butt off with his bro lately.
I gotta disagree. IMO, that honor would go to Smith/Cassell. Edit - That reminded me, I made a thread on a similar subject a few years ago: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=194251
I hated everything about the way Lowry played, I would put him 4th of the 4 players Bev does everything Lowry does but without the attitude and even more defense. Plus the Lin bev combo also has brooks, so I'll take that
2009 Lowry /Brook any day. Back then, Lowry defended and was intent on pushing the pace and steamrolling everyone in the way. And Brooks felt he could do anything and hit a lot of crazy shots. Today's Lowry/Brooks vs Lin/Beverley, it's 50:50. There's a reason Lowry is being shopped and Brooks was available for the vet minimum.
2009 Brooks and Lowry. Brooks was pretty damn good back in 2009, and then Lowry coming off the bench was great too.
OP should add one more choice Lowry/Dragic In my opinion #1 Lowry starter/Dragic backup #2 Lin starter/Bev backup #3 Brooks starter/Lowry backup
Smith/Cassell as well as SF3 during his prime (an actual all star and ROY) starting and playing starter minutes smokes all the rest that followed.
Dallas, didn't think we were going back that far. I was really just talking about stuff within the last 4 years or so. Still waiting for someone to assemble a "clutch city" team like the one I watched living in Houston in 93.
Bevlin by far. Lowry was vastly overrated on this board and AB was a scoring point guard on a lottery team.
I voted Lowry/Brooks thinking the 2009 version. But if he meant 2013 version of both players, then Beverley/Lin.
If both of these two could have started next to each other I would have voted for them. But the past is the past, so i just voted for the current.
Lowry was key in getting us Harden so I count him lost under all circumstances. However I would take Dragic and Beverly over Lin and Beverly which could have been done.
