He did nicely locking up curry and lillard. He could have guarded Ellis tonight

    a little fanboyish comments.
but yes, Jeremy didn't play well, and the refs didn't really help him out at all from the shenanigans the Mavs did to Lin, roughing him. And He has no protector like a Thug Hockey is supposed to do.

But, Lin is not an undisciplined player, that is a lie. He makes mental mistakes but he doesn't jack up shots, he plays to the tempo of the game for sure.

under Pop, I think Lin would be riding the pine. and Pop would SCREAM at Lin for making these boneheaded mistakes. But I think Lin can learn and clearly Lin is talented. he has a long way to go mentally

Believe it or not, Lin/Garcia were on Dirk in the last few minutes of the game.

and he just came back from missing 10 games with knee injuries and back spasms.

1 game and he's doom. Most importantly, he's bench player that barely get 30 minutes game unlike Dragic.

At least 5 or 6 wide open 3s were a result of that - and maybe more......and it is EVERY game, the only difference is the Mavs have shooters, some other teams do not.

Lin needs to know you don't leave Calderon to drift into the lane.....

And I like Lin - but I am frankly tired of the excuses, the guy needs to improve or he will find this being his only big contract - he is far too intelligent to be playing this undisciplined.

We need a tougher coach who would sit his ass on the bench until he gets it.

as i said earlier. lin wasn't good defensively (no denying it, those 3's he gave caldy in the first half was just lack of bball IQ). but anyone blaming solely the loss or defense on him just didn't watch the game with an unbiased mind. the bottom line was that we lost track of everyone (the entire team) in transition. crowder and dirk got wide open looks as the trailers. mavs had a buncha easy ass transition points whether it be layups or corner threes.

frankly speakin, no one was back defensively. the certain times lin was, he was outnumbered. so it made it look like he wasn't rotating, when there were too many ppl back for the mavs, and too little for us. lin wasn't good defensively, but neither was the entire team.

Ellis has 4-5 inches on Bev easily. that's a bad matchup

They gotta neutralize him. He's the team's X factor.

Rockets gathering others teams practice players and trying to turn them into competent bench players isn't looking to good

Lin is a great penetrator and finisher but he is absolutely horrendous defending offball.

he's just repeating the talking points SAS says all the time. Lin played a bit out of control. But the rockets need his athleticism, acceleration ball handling and passing to help the Rockets believe it or not. Lin's head needs to get screwed on straight for tough matches like this.

I give Lin 3 games to recover his maniac play considering his injuries.............

if he's still TO prone or def liability, time to trade him.

Dude it wasn't just Lin.....Brooks did the same thing so this leads to crappy coaching period. This crap has been going on with this team all year long with every guard on the floor!

    The Rockets have several issues.

First they really miss Harden (their best player) and Beverly (their best perimeter defender). For all the trolls and stupid threads in the GARM, their is no replacing Harden or Beverly.

Second, a weak bench is even weaker now. Players like Garcia and Brooks are expected to play heavy minutes and contribute. You add in getting nothing from Asik and you have a team that basically is 2 rotation players when healthy, from being elite, to a team 4-5 rotation players short now.

The Rockets still don't have an identity. Are they Harden and everyone else? Do they run through Dwight like the last two nights? Are they a group that plays 10 deep and wears you out? They still don't know.

Last the perimeter defensive rotations by Lin, Harden, Parsons and Brooks will get them eliminated in the playoffs by mediocre teams like Dallas. Last year with Asik always staying deep in the post it was less of an issue. With Howard the team is still adjusting. For having supposed high IQ players like Harden, Lin and Parson it is disappointing.

A majority of these problems will be addressed with more time playing together and more healthy bodies. I also expect Morey to add another rotation player or two at the deadline.

yup, Carlyle ain't dumb, Lin hurt the Mav's last year, probalby more than Harden did. but Harden is also someone carlyle plans for too.
