Fraud and corruption is not something new for this lady.

She was also involved in housing scam in India.

    Boom.

    Zboy with the goods.

Jokes aside, I have a very bitter memory of such oppression practiced in India. We went there on a trip once and I couldn't help but feel sorry for people that are still treated according to the caste system and taken advantage of. Its pretty much institutionalized to the point where the "dirt" in society begin to think of themselves as such and never make that upwards trend. We were at a restaurant when the waiter spilled some water on the table. It was no big deal, but the manager came in dragged him in the back and started beating him. The manager and the boy were on different levels as he kept taking it, crying, and apologizing. I kept thinking to myself why he didn't retaliate and just kept bowing down. We actually wrote a letter to the owner but I doubt anything ever happened.

My dad told me an interesting story about how people within a caste think of themselves when he worked for Aramco as a lead engineer. There was this one day where he needed one of the guys reporting under him to do something. The guy was told, but did nothing. It went on for a while to where the guy's name was on the intercom and he still didn't come. Then, one of the other guys pulled my dad aside and told him that he was a Brahmin and thought very highly of himself. There was a big indian engineer workforce so the guy thought that he could implement that sort of thinking at the plant. My dad told me that nothing ever pissed him off more than this, and as a blunt individual, he picked the perfect time to embarrass this dude in front of everyone telling him that his brahmin status was no good here. Regardless of the indian lobby, my dad had him fired but still couldn't understand how someone had the nerve to do something like that.

I can't say for certain what the facts are in this case, but it just sounds like another classic example of oppression.

Perhaps some Indians are still sensitive over our former Secretary of State's thoughts about Indians working in gas stations...

    Stereotyping is so wrong....right?

"Well I don't work as a waiter so they haven't been demeaning to me personally. I've managed many Indians over the years at work and have had good luck with them. I have no problem with them. Except when it's time to go out to dinner and they're all vegetarian. And the whole BO thing, but that's easily fixable."

hmm, no? What am I trying to defend?

She made a stupid comment, but so did you. Do you stand by your comments?

If you do then you should have no problem with Hillary's either.

She stereotyped Indians by suggesting they work in gas stations

I simply recounted my own personal, anecdotal experiences. Very different. You should be able to see that clearly...unless you're just out to get me since I embarrassed you.

LOL that is rich. Anecdotal or not, your statement still included 2 stereotypes.

Don't be a hypocrite. Just man up and admit it, what you said was more offensive and not too many people called you out at the time, but don't layer us with your hypocrisy.

    Actually no.

They were personal stories that happened to me. And it's hilarious that none of you tried to call me on it until now, when you're flailing trying to defend yourself.

    HAHA!

So seeing stereotypes happen to you in person makes mentioning them no longer a stereotype? So you must think Hillary has never seen an Indian working at a gas station?

Just saw this. Of course it would change my view, but having lived in the Middle East where such exploitation is common I have heard the "we send the rest to their family" story a million times and it's rarely ever true. Everyone is capable of sending money to their own family, unless they are not given free time to do so.

This whole thing is very familiar. Signing a second contract to take your employee to the US. Claiming that they are happy with the pay. Coaching the answers. Claiming that the money is untraceably sent somewhere else.

I would be amazed if this is anything other than a typical case of exploitation. If it were ever proven to be otherwise - or if the evidence heavily indicated it - I would definitely change my view about part of this. Nothing, however, will change how I perceive the superiority complex she displayed about being searched. People get searched in the same way everyday, tons of people complain, but few act like they should be exempt because of their status and that's something I abhor deeply regardless of nationality, gender or status.
