Actually, Toronto desperately wants to draft Andrew Wiggins, who's Canadian. They should start to jettison useful players soon.
It's not Brian Colangelo anymore. Morey has to deal with Masai Ujiri, the guy who got rid of Melo in 6 months and then rebuilt the Nuggets without missing anything. There is no way he would trade Lowry and Amir for Lin and DMo, mostly because DMo is still unproven.
Not true. He got rid of Nene for McGee. He got a pile of good assets for Melo including Galinari, Chandler, and picks, including The Knicks first round pick in this draft.
As much as it would make my skin crawl, Paul Pierce & Andray Blatche for Lin & Asik would be okay by me, depending on the picks filler. With Lopez being done for the year, they'll definitely be a player for Asik. But I don't think Deron is getting moved with that nasty trade kicker. Also, I'd be stunned if Morey is able to move both Lin & Asik in the same deal to one team.
I really don't think Paul Pierce is tradeable. He'll most likely be bought out. His big money contract days are over. We could trade Asik/Lin/Jones/DMo/Smith/Brewer/Covington/first rounder for Deron Williams and KG and a couple of their minimum salary deals though and then sign Pierce outright when the Nets released him to our Room MLE for 2 years. If that happened before January 10th then Pierce would get the full value of the Room MLE for 2 years. This would be the same money to Pierce as signing a 1-year deal next year for the full MLE, around $5.3 million. This type of trade would also save the Nets around $95 million in salary and luxury tax penalties. (Would they care????) And it would also give them a very large TPE of the full value of Deron's salary of $18.466 for future trade flexibility. Will any of this happen??? I'd say the odds are small at this point. Brooklyn has an absentee owner who doesn't really understand the league. He's gonna have to get burnt most likely for several years just burning through his wallet before he understands how the league works. But....they could do an about face and come to their senses if indeed they are still struggling at the deadline or into January. So who knows? But as far as another team coming up with something better that is mutually beneficial to both team...Nets probably aren't going to do better than what I just laid out.
Yeah , lets bring in Deron Williams , KG and Paul Pierce .... because they are killing it in the Leastern Conference ....
LOL DWill, Harden, Parsons, Dwight, KG, Pierce, Beverley, Garcia, Canaan. Do.you.think.they.could.contend.???? LOL
Well, if anyone does not care about the "balloon year," it's Prokhorov. This makes sense if Morey thinks there is some desirable big name free agent who is looking to sign in Houston in 2014 if only Houston had the cap room. Chris Bosh, maybe? But is he leaving Miami and Lebron? Hard to say. My guess is that this thing drags out to The February trade deadline. Teams usually don't make a decision until they have to.
I doubt it ... Counting on Canaan to contribute anything is .... unreasonable , he's proven nothing. KG is shooting a career low 37% from the floor .... and cant be counted upon for more than ~20 min a game. Pierce isn't having as poor a year statistically as KG but he's definitely taken a huge step back in production. Sure , he'd likely be an upgrade to the current bench. If I could sign him as a FA .... I'd consider it. D.Will .... when healthy is probably the most desirable of the three but all the injuries seem to have taken their toll , he's nothing near the player he was in Utah. Im not sure he's an upgrade over Lin at this point in his career. I don't believe the roster you envision wins any more games than the current roster does .... then again , that isn't the real question which is: How do they perform in the post season - that one is much more difficult to establish as those dudes have been very good when everything is on the line but father time seems to have caught up with them. I really think there are better alternatives to that suggestion.
Atlanta Out: Paul Milsap, Elton Brand, Future lottery protected 1st Atlanta In: Thaddeus Young, Omer Asik, 2nd round pick Houston Out: Omer Asik, Donatas Montiejunas, 2nd round pick Houston In: Paul Milsap, Elton Brand Philadelphia Out: Thaddeus Young Philadelphia In: Donatas Montiejunas, Future lottery protected 1st from ATL Atlanta gets 2 difference makers for the price of one and move Horford to PF. Elton Brand is not in their future plans and is thrown in to make the salaries work so it's more like Milsap and a 1st for Asik and Young. Thad Young can play the 3 and backup Horford at the 4. If they want to go small when Asik sits, they still can with Horford at C and Young at PF. In the week East, they won't be missing the playoffs anyways so the 1st round pick will be less valuable and they can use it to get better right now. Highly unlikely they get a player where they'll be drafting better than Asik or Young. Young is 25 and Asik is 27 with low miles. Horford is 27 and Teague is 25. This is a unit that can grow together. Houston gets a good PF on the 2 year deal they prefer rather than the 3 year deal of Thad Young. Philly gets a young 7 foot prospect with decent upside and a 1st rounder while shedding contract, fulfilling Young's supposed trade request, and committing to the tank/rebuild. I think this is a pretty fair trade for all teams. I'm open to tweaks or suggestions though.
NO THANKS TO DWILL AND HIS $100 CONTRACT... or any of that garbage they have over there in Crooklyn. Second, havent you guys caught on already? Everything Morey will do from here on out will be for the FA class of 2015. Kevin Love is his man right now, and he will do everything in his power to get him to Houston, that being said, if that doesnt come about then he will look elsewhere, but you can forget about any Bosh signings, or any other trades that would hinder Love coming to Houston.
