7 hrs is average, if you are having memory problems...this is NOT good dude. Are you taking any medication (prescription or non-prescription?) , drugs? In the past did you? If not, go see a Doctor right away. If you are nauseas or have headache, I say goto the E.R. Those are usually signs of a brain tumor, it was my uncle's first sign. At a young age, short term memory loss unrelated to drugs is a PRETTY BAD SIGN.
You can't say that. Sleep apnea comes with a lot of other problems and it sounds like he has something very neurological in nature. Short term memory loss is young people is almost always related to drugs, if OP has abused in the past (benzos especially) than that would explain a lot.
Yeah, 5-6 hours is usually my max. I automatically wake like clockwork unless I really, really, needed some sleep. Ever heard the question, "rather have a tired surgeon or an angry surgeon?" 15-20 minutes can be heaven Or maybe just blame the drugs.
OP, neuroscientists now broadly accept that sleep and memory are strongly linked. There was also a newer study (early 2013) that found this problem to be especially prevalent in seniors, since their sleep is typically poor. Just in case your handle is accurate, "old fan", your seven hours or whatever might not be the best hours, and that will definitely affect memory.
I don't think they're related, OP. I only get 3 hours of sleep a day and I don't think I get memory loss at all.
I'd love to have 7 hours of sleep a night. I can't even get that on weekends because of the deadly combination of late night gigs and early rising kids. Everything I've heard says that as long as you are getting at least 6 hours a night, you should be fine.
This is why you are not getting the results you want when you lift. You neeed proper rest. Eat big, lift big and sleep big (about 12-14 hours a day)
Maybe this is why he asks the same questions over and over in the lifting thread and never retains any information!
Lol, good one I sleep about 7 hours normally (though I should probably add an hour). I've gone through periods (a few months at a time) where I slept only 3-4 hours per night, and the main difference I felt was a much poorer memory. My energy was ok-ish, ability to concentrate was meh, but my memory turned to ****.
No, i'm not 'old' , im 19. the username just means i used to be a fan of tmac. anyways, thanks for your input.
Maybe OP is overweight, has blocked nose passage like deviated septum, or allergies during the night. Waking up at night because of the lack of oxygen is pretty serious. It's possible, but you're right, drugs would be the likelier answer if OP does that kind of stuff. Could also explain post quality too.
This is a total BS. I only sleep 4 hours a day and, and... I really think we should give Spanoullis more minutes.
