Either start Lin, or bring in a new starting PG, Bev ain't cuttin' it.

Lin has great leadership qualities. Don't take his humbleness for meekness. He's not a get in your face type but he's no doormat either. Bev also has strong leadership qualities and Brooks has some as well. The culture isn't set up for a strong leader for the Rockets but the team has quality guys that can lead. Rondo would rub some the wrong way, he's that kind of guy. Just be patient with the young players like Lin, Beverley, T Jones etc. In Rondo's second year people were asking if you can win anything with him as your PG.

Yeah....people comparing leadership with a veteran and ring bearer like Rondo. You can't just step into the NBA and demand or receive respect right away, that process takes time even for the greatest players. Even players like Kobe took time to establish and command that role so don't expect Bev or Lin to be able to do that in just a season or two. Not sure about Bev, but Lin has proven his leadership quality at every stage of his basketball career....and this is coming from a guy that actually was there for Palo Alto High's championship game and two games during the Linsanity stretch.

Actually, isn't that the best time to trade one of them? when they are injured and we get a healthy player back? :p

This is not Morey's opinion about Lin's play last. He clearly stated that without Lin the Rockets would have not made it to the playoffs. Lin is playing better this year.

I don't think Lin is either (a leader nor a doormat). I think he's a good role player who goes with the team concept. Nothing wrong with that at all. In terms of Bev, he does have high motor and in your face defense but at the end of the day he isn't commanding the locker room as is. He defers in our current offense and is a specialized tole players. AB has absolutely no leadership qualities (and this is coming from someone who likes him). He's a quiet guy who provides offense when his shot is falling and little else. No way to know if he would or wouldn't but i'd certainly give Rondo a shot.

Deron Williams is only 29, still playing at a high level, and if memory serves, wanted to play with Dwight Howard. Brooklyn needs a center to save its season and Houston has a dynamic point guard to send back, too. Maybe there's an opportunity here for Houston to get better, if we're willing to take on that big contract. Asik's young, too. Brooklyn needs youth. I'll bet Morey's on the phone.

29 is young for a pg who has been through numerous injuries?

True, it's a risk. But maybe he'd thrive with Howard and Harden. He's been playing well lately. Brooklyn has some shooters Houston could use, too. Might be a chance to improve at a couple of positions.

It's a big risk , i'm not willing to tie up 20m for a 29 years old PG with injury problem for the next 4 years.
He might become the next Amare anytime.

By February, the Nets season could be lost already so they might as well tank.

Trading DWill for Asik and Lin is about the grandest anti-tank move they could make. Thank god Morey will never do it.

Except they don't have any draft picks. Tanking does them zero good.

It could be one of those trades like morey did with OKC harden, where a 6th man gets to start and takes them to the playoffs when it wasn't looking like they would make it & Lin feeds off energy and support and he would get plenty of it in BK NY.

Kidd would MAKE Lin run that point all game long, asik & kg would set screens for him & he would be surround with shooters from 3 & midrange.

    Morey wouldn't do it

True, forgot about that one. But still if the season is lost they may have less incentive at that point.

4 on 5 in offense is never "fit", but "crippled", unless you try to reinvent bball.

Yes, that's what I mean, Nets would get better. Forgot they have no Picks.

Lin went from an undrafted scrub to a good role player that occasionally scores 30+ points, that's a pretty big achievement on his part. I think Lin still has some untapped potential. Look forward to see how he step up in the next couple of games.
