You can't blame the choice made by the Lakers, I actually thought it was a pretty good nod by the Lakers. Kobe has done so much for that organization, so in the world of it's all about business, it was a solid reason....though it's going to screw them for awhile.

You don't choose a 34 year old guard over a 27 big man in his prime.

When half of the team is injured, it's not coincidence, the coach needs to share some of the responsibilities in terms of minutes and rotation...

In the RG3 case, he was trying to play hero ball....the coach was in a no win situation so he had to let him play. I feel bad for RG3, but he made a statement/choice so he has to shoulder the ultimate blame. Yeah....it's pretty tough for most coaches to go up against superstars.....except for Pop.

Eh, I don't buy that Asik's "injury" is real. I am also not convinced that Harden's "injury" is real. I suspect their injuries are in their heads. Sure Harden plays lots of minutes but he is young - very young. I think he can handle it physically. Taking the night off the day after a humiliating loss in which his performance was subpar is suspect, though.

I have no doubt Bev and Smith were actually injured. Lin I think was also injured, not sure his current status, though.

I do wonder what sort of a toll the Asik situation is having on the team and in the locker room, though. I wonder where morale really is. Harden seems like the guy who's calling in sick just because he doesn't really want to be there. And I wonder if it ties back to the Asik situation.

Sure you do, if it's not for purely winning reasons. What have Howard done for the organization? What have Kobe done for the organization? I rest my case.

Dwight would have not been out what multipale injuries and be on the decline.Howard is playing like a top 3 or 4 player in the NBA.

Maybe the injuries are a blessing in disguise, the bench players can now start and start performing better and hit there stride mid-season.Now we can see what Cannan gots and Lin when healthy will start he can start showing some confidence.

Also best thing is Dwight Dominating, and 9-14 at the stripe, just a plus,he is improving his FTs.

Lin has 1M+ followers on Twitter. There's bound to be a few extremists in there.

Really, pick anyone who has 1M followers on Twitter and you'll find a few people who are WAY out there.

Stop it. Look at the players who are injured. Injuries are a result primarily of events. Was Greg Smith getting too many minutes? Was Asik getting too many minutes? Lin? Was Bev's hand injured because he was using it too much? How does he NOT use it - all day long? The only one whose "injury" might be related to overuse or misuse might be Harden, but as I said earlier he is still very young and big minutes are not going to clock his body quite as hard as they might others. I am not saying that's not an issue with him - it might very well be. But the others? Um, no.

I understand your point, in terms of pure basketball reasons. However, the Lakers with Kobe for the next three years will still bring more (purely $$$) to the organization then Howard will ever do. Yeah, the Lakers could of kick Kobe to the curb but it takes a lot of guts and respect to not do that to a player. That's why I have some respect for the Lakers and thus far with the Spurs and Duncan.

So... am I the only one worried about Monday with all of the injuries piling up? Dallas is playing pretty well, and we are 1-1 with them on the season. No Harden = No Win, I think. And we'll need Brooks to have a good game. And we'll need at least one of Asik or Lin back.

I'll be damned if we lose to the Mavs at home.

His last two years in Orlando, he was getting almost 3 more shot attempts a game plus going to the line a little more. So he was definitely getting more touches.
