Every season gets better and better....with MAYBE the exception of Season 4 being better than Season 5. And thats ONLY because Season 4 was so freaking amazing.
Eh... I'm probably in the minority but I kind of preferred the earlier seasons. They just felt a little more realistic, I don't know. And the end of season 4 was awesome but almost nothing happened in the middle 6 episodes or so. Season 5 was amazing though.
I started watching this a while back, and didn't like it either. I kept it on in the background through 4 seasons, and evenutally said enough is enough. Just wasn't for me, and I was mad I watched so much of it. But hey, everyone else seems to love it.
Two quick questions- seems only half of the latest season shows available on netflix. What's going on with that, I thought they did entire seasons at once. Also, in that last episode netlfix has up, episode 8 I think, which previous episode does the effective mini cliffhanger episode reference when Spoiler hank figures out what "WW" stands for, in that book? It was a refernce to a past episode where he asked that, and walt jokingly said ""you got me!" I want to watch that one again. Can't bad mouth s5 too much because I obviously want to finish it, but I get people being disappointed by it too- skyler's direction is annoying me much more than normal. And they're trying to make jesse increasingly smarter, but is still really "yo yo yo mister white, b****!" etc. Also, bb is now a dodge commercial.
Okay, thanks to you all, seriously. I will give it another go at some point. I do like the lead actor a lot (though not as much as Anthony Hopkins does, LOL). <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/MnJ16AM2hM0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I mean, we're talking about Sir Anthony Hopkins here.
I watched through all of the episodes for the first time within the last month. I really enjoyed the series, but I thought it was a bit overrated. Also, the ending wasn't as satisfying as everyone thought, in my opinion. I did see something in the spoiler thread about how Walt Jr kills Hank to avenge his father. I was pissed when I saw it, but I thought it was hilarious once I found out it was a lie.
They separated the final season, they will probably put it on Netflix in a few months. the last 8 are like a season of their own man!
update: just binge watched season 1 and season 2 starts for me tonight. by the intervention scene in episode 5, I was hooked.
I understand where the OP is coming from. I kept hearing the hype on here and on the radio so I watched the first 3 episodes back in August and haven't watched one since. I didn't dislike the show, but I wasn't motivated enough by what I'd seen to that point to want to know what going to happen next. I'm determined to give it a fair shake though because apparently some really crazy stuff goes down so I'll pick it up again after I finish catching up with The Walking Dead series.
close to finishing up season 2.. i will say this, great show but i thought it was gping to be a lot darker. feels like it teeters on wanting to be a comedy at times with the silly plots and goofy characters.
There is no way you understood what was going on with it playing in the background. You should have sat down and actually watched. breaking bad isn't golf.
I guess I should have been more clear. I watched it, with more or less full attention for at least the first couple of seasons. As I still wasn't getting too interested in it, I started watching it with it on in the background. So perhaps when it was getting better, I had already decided it wasn't for me.
I felt the same way except I have no desire to try again. I don't feel like I should have to labor through half a season (or several seasons) if the show is really that good.
I get the heebie jeebies when Walking Dead is mentioned in this thread. Different shows, definitely different writing, and totally different payoff. Just because they both seem slow and talky doesn't mean the style is the same or appeals to the same kinds of people.
