grass is greener syndrome...? what about the rest of the league? everyone outside of houston has been saying this.... harden is great, but pg is greater... c'mon man, just accept it. It's not a diss on harden in any way.
This is how I'm starting to feel about Harden. The fan base of this team was starving for a star and I like a lot of people was excited when we got Harden. But he doesn't strike me as having the fire and desire to be the leader of a championship team.
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=247941 This thread is less then 2 weeks old talking about his D. If more people shared your view about Harden's improved D there would be more people with your thinking of Harden being a decent defender with a few bad games rather then a bad defender with a few good games.
i wonder how many of you guys saying size was a factor said the same thing when durant guarded kobe 2 years ago
Obvious choice is obvious. At the point this thread was made Harden was over valued and PG under. Now after much of the season is done its obvious that PG is in a whole different class with LeBron and maybe KD compared to the rest of the league. Close this thread since this discussion ended a long time ago.
I have a feeling that the longer this Asik/Lin rumors go on the more its going to cost the team. Our rotation is butt-**** terrible right now, we have no depth, no shut down defenders and we rely too much on Harden pick and roll and the constant jacking of threes to win games. We don't use Howard enough. We still don't have any strong leaders on this team, either. You would hope that Harden would use this game as motivation moving forward. It just sucks because it seems like another Matt Schaub scenario in the works, a guy who is only good against bad teams and when exposed against elite competition ultimately loses his confidence and submits.
Even if his off the court activities just happen to be the reason he plays like *** some nights, that's still a decision and a choice he makes, which also reflects his mental strength. Basketball is more than just talent, there's the mental aspect of it and George has clearly worked on that his entire career. It's why he's respected by everyone and gets better by leaps and bounds every year. It's not just "Oh Harden will mature one day", it's a daily process of making better decisions, and getting into good habits. If he's not willing to make that leap, well he'll always be regarded as a second fiddle, maybe even third on a winning team. Nothing wrong with that I guess, but then you wish you didn't pay him superstar money.
They have. I'm not even going to quote comments from other forums because, guess what, you know as well as I do that people are saying it. But I will tell you this, in cali where i'm at, everyone except the bay area is jumping on the pacers and PG bandwagon. don't believe me? just look at how many poster that you yourself are currently arguing against...
I'm actually shocked so many people back in May thought Harden was that far ahead of PG. I thought it was clear back then that the only thing holding Paul back in that Heat series was a little inexperience being the man and having to battle one of the greatest players of all time. ....I like to see Harden get embarrassed though. It seems like he likes to have a little too much fun in the offseason, but you can really see that he has that competitive spirit in games. If he can just keep that picture of Paul George reverse dunking on his team in his head in the offseason, maybe he will be motivated to put more effort on defense all the time and getting himself in better shape in the offseason.
Ok ive come to understand how pointless it is to argue with a Harden Only Fan (JayGoogle). Blind folds on all day every day. P O I N T L E S S
Meh. I still believe in harden. I would put money in the rockets in the finals over the pacers any day. Pacers look good right now, but I still believe in Houston.
Quick question.... Is this thread going to be bumped every time Harden has a bad game for his entire career?
What about what NBA GMs and other sports media has been saying at the start of the season then? LOL. I've been here before Harden even stepped into the NBA kid.
...honestly, Howard being as effective as he was in this game kind of worked against the Rockets because they settled in and just dumped him the ball and sat around watching(used to happen in the Olajuwon days too) and it took the flow out of the offense and let Indy load up defensively.
Nice to see some fans still acting like fans. Pacers might be the better team right now, but go Rockets all day.
