I would pay to see Melo and Harden playing on the same team. Imagine the arguments for the last shot while Howard is pouting on the side.

I haven't seen enough of Cannan to call him an upgrade as of yet.

Pacers got it up to 18-20 and Rockets rolled over like dogs. Sad. Credit to Indiana. Great game by them.

Rockets still the pretender that they are.

Couldn't help but think during the game: Morey's biggest regret: amnestying Scola?

Probably not. Maybe losing Yao or losing/trading his favorite player Battier or drafting Royce White but damn, the Rockets sure could use a guy like Scola.

We will have to bring Robert Covington and I.Canaan from the DLg to get Brooks and Garcias minutes let them grow with the big guys.I know Canaan needs to improves his d but his avg assists its 9per and he can shoot i rather loose with those rooks.AB its one dimensional he cant play make anithing and he takes a lot of bad shoots and garcia its a terrible passer and he is not making his shoots besides he gives too many sily fouls

Our true starting PG is playing 6th man
Our starting SG is half-assing both PG & SG
Our current starting PG isn't actually a PG, but a guy who just runs around with his hand in people's faces

    Championship?

But with Harden and Bev playing, it clearly shows that if Harden is your best player and Bev your starting PG it's never going to be the answer as well.;)

Why does it matter? There is nothing a PG can do for this team.

Did Harden pass it to Parsons to let him drive and score? NO
Did Harden feed Howard when he was having a good game? NO

If only he didn't make it a matter of pride and continued playing team ball.

Also, I still think that a Coach upgrade would do more for this team than a PG upgrade. Hell, keep Bev as a starter (even though I don't agree with it) or go back to TT. With decent playcalling we can overcome most of the issues Rockets are facing.

    Just my 2 cents.

You're never going to have the cap room to get both a serious upgrade to the 4 AND the 1.

Howard and Harden make a combined $36M next year. Expect Parsons will be commanding another $8-11M. So just with those 3 you're looking at $45M or so. The Salary cap is estimated to only be $62M next year.

Right now the Rockets have $56M on the books for next year, that's assuming Brooks walks. If we waive the remaining non-guaranteed salaries that gets us down to $51M.

That's assuming you let Casspi, Beverley, Covington and Brewer all walk.

    http://www.hoopsworld.com/houston-rockets-team-salary

If you get a premium 4 at $15M, even if you did it while moving Lin and Asik, that still leaves only $7M to get a PG.

Rondo is slotted to make $13M next year. Even if you could move Asik + Lin straight up, that only leaves $8M for a 4.

And all that is BEFORE you fill out the rest of the roster spots.

You can either get an all-star/near all star PG, or a PF. Not both. To upgrade both positions would take a near miracle.

I hear ya. but that's is the ROckets way and Alexander's way for the foresseable future. We got to deal with it best as possible. I am only rooting for the success of PBEV and the entire team. On the other hand i have a bit of disdain for Morey and ALexander.

damn i missed the game! I watched the beginning of it at the gym but the boys wanted to go get some grub and they didn't televise the game:(

I will withhold judgement for now, but from what i'm seeing on the box score, it seems like almost everyone sucked tonight besides Dwight. Jesus i haven't seen that lousy of stats in a long time.

The bench needs Lin and he's a sort of "bridge" player. By that I mean he plays a bit with the first unit and then the second unit with Beverley and then Harden comes back in and the first unit and then sometimes Beverley or Lin will close it out or both and Jones would sit. Right now, Bev can't run the second unit. The only choice is Lin and I would love to see Lin start. But I just can't see it here.

Thunder are contenders. We were "supposed" to be contenders this year, but looks like we still got a longs way to go

Then unless Asik nets us a upgrade at one of those positions and one of the current core guys steps into the other position, we will have a hard time competing against the elite teams in a 7 game series

good analysis as always. I think you are PFV from youtube for sure. But i'd like to at least chime in and say that It is probably possible to get a player at a mid level exception to play the PF position someone like M.Morris or P> Patterson. And fill out the bench with min level salaries.
a healthy Rondo?, Healthy Harden?, Parsons, Howard, and Mid-level PF is pretty darn good team.

Boston gets Lin, Crawford/Bradley, Green, Bass, Sullinger/Asik, Not a bad nucleus with plenty of Draft picks to trade or use.

He got bailed out tonight and doesn't handle the ball that much though he's pretty secure when he does. He almost turned it over twice and really, when he tries to be a playmaker, he looks sloppy. He plays controlled and safe and doesn't turn it over much because of that. That can't be compared to Harden or Lin who try to make plays and botch a few of them. Harden and Lin will also get offensive fouls called on them, charges, and that's a good, aggressive turnover and that rarely happens with Beverley. Beverley's low TO rate is not as impressive as it looks.

i mean when I was watching it, it seemed like we were on pace to win by at least 5+ points. I stopped watching it around the 7 min mark.

    Didn't think we'd get stomped this bad:eek:
