What's the point in having no TOs if he also can't do anything else (i.e., assist, make plays or score consistently in double digits).

 

Cus he's not the playmaker, Harden is. Bev is there to bail people out if the one with the ball has no where to go. For example Parsons is stuck in a corner, he can pass it to Bev, who is standing almost at halfcourt and then Bev passes to Harden. And then Harden makes plays by driving, passing or giving the ball to Dwight in the post.

 

So when are we getting Carmelo?

Guys, Indy used the same recipe Portland used against us. They gave Dwight everything he wanted, they took away Harden and our shooters and they scrambled away from Jones, daring Jones to beat them. This was a replica of the Blazers game only executed by a much, much better defense than Portland's. Lin may have made up about 10 points and then if you got Casspi throwing in an extra 4 buckets instead of a 1 for 10, you could cut the deficit down to about 10 but it's still a deficit.

We're nowhere near good enough to beat Indiana, Miami, San Antonio, or OKC in a 7-game series right now and that's not going to change unless Asik comes back and plays strong and we find a third big to play quality championship basketball. And it's doubtful whether we could even beat the Clippers or Blazers in a 7-game series.

Did you see the stat that Lin leads in drive to the hoop percentage? Know who is second? LeBron James. Ever hear of him? So that' something he does that is elite. Jones is a young, young player. I expected this. He'll shine and look great but this is part of growing pains. He's the future. Be patient. This team is not there yet. But Howard, Harden, Parsons, Lin and Jones will be big in the future if you'd just lower expectations, know the team has to gel and learn each other's games, and let the team grow. McHale said as much in his practice interview on Thursday. I don't know if Asik will be part of it so I left him out.

 

Our PG upgrade is stashed at RGV right now.

The #1 need on this team by far is a serious upgrade to the 2nd and 3rd big men in our big man rotation. Asik could fix some of that if he were willing to. But we still need that 3rd quality big.

 

Harden is a SG, he needs to play as a pure scorer

 

You forgot "brainwash Harden, so that he plays team ball"

Having better players at other positions won't matter if they never get the ball or get demotivated by our "franchise player" who is seen as an overrated "superstar" by anyone that's not a Rockets' fan.

 

Why do you want Melo?
He's another one that don't play defense...

 

We really just aren't in the Pacers' league

 

We don't need a very good PG. No team has an all star PG and SG.
There's no need to upgrade our pg when he won't even be the primary ballhandler.

I feel like some peoples mentality is we can't compete unless we have 5 superstars starting., we just need to get everyone healthy and play team basketball. a good 4 would be huge though.

 

Bev Lin brooks is not the answer. Lin does not have to play for me to know that

 

everybody needs to get better. that's the solution. one player might now make all the difference. But everyone getting a little better will collectively improve our chances against the elite.

1. Harden needs to get healthy
2. Parsons needs to improve, but he's already a really good player
3. Terrance JOnes needs to progress
4. Asik needs to get traded ASAP. we are wasting an asset sitting on a bench
5. Lin needs to get back on the floor
6. Beverley hasn't proved that he can be consistent enough to be a starter.
7. Team ball and team chemistry is really off. That needs to be worked on big time.
8. It would be nice to get something from Garcia and Casspi with Harden and Lin penetrating the defense. The specialists need to execute when callled upon.

 

I disagree... This team has a lot of talent, the problem is playing as a team on both ends of the court...

Too many players want to play one on one and you can't win against good teams that way.. You have to move the ball on offense... You have a big man so play inside out.. More pick and rolls.. More drive and dish... More drive and cut...

Our team defense is just atrocious, they play like defense like a middle school team..

They have the talent and potential... Just not the maturity..

Melo and Harden just doesn't sound right in the same sentence. You need someone exactly like Paul George, someone who can play equally solid on offense and defense.....yeah it's hard to find.
