I wouldn't sat it had zero to do with the left. I believe it was done out of fear of the left. They had every right to suspend him and he had every right to say what he did. I believe A&E suspended him out of fear of the the left and how they would predictably react to his comments.

What's stupid is that this is a "controversy" and in the first place. Robertson was within his rights to say what he said. Sometimes, what you say can carry consequences. That has nothing to do with free speech. A&E was within their rights to fire him. The decision was likely a PR move. They probably feared that keeping him on board may be detrimental to their bottom line. People get reprimanded and terminated all the time for things they say, if what they say isn't in concordance with company culture and preferred image. This should have barely been a blip on the news cycle. The media blowing it up like they did simply diverts people's attention from more serious issues.

My favorite things so far: 1. The Left and the Right claiming the other is intolerant. 2. The Left following through by calling Robertson a "redneck" among other things. That does not discount his opinion, and that does not mean he holds "redneck" views. 3. The Left making claims about Robertson without seeing the show or educating themselves about him. 4. The Left thinking Robertson will apologize for what he said. 5. The Left making ridiculous, skewed generalizations about Christianity.

I'm just saying that if we disagree with the gay agenda and the Rainbow Brigade that we are shot down in flames, called names like bigot & intolerant just because we don't share the same views on homosexuality? Someone may lose their job over quoting a Bible scripture, but at a gay pride parade folks are allowed to dress up as priests & nuns, as well as mock Christ & Christianity, with no repercussions…under the guise of free speech or freedom of expression.
