Can't say I'm surprised with how the game is playing out.

What folks so conveniently forget is that the Elite teams, ie, the best of the best teams have strong team defense and at least ONE elite defender. This is the problem the team is facing right now.

Paul George is basically neutralizing Harden due to great defense and length, which means the pressure falls squarely on Parsons to create. The problem is, the Pacers have strong team defense which is limiting the total impact of Parsons. Yes, Parsons is still scoring, but you'll notice how hard he has to work to score.

This is where you need another strong play maker on the floor with Harden and Parsons.

You can get away with Harden + Parsons against mediocre defensive teams. However, once you take Harden out of play, if you don't have at least 2 play makers on the floor to punish the defense, you're basically praying that Parsons can carry the team. As good as Parsons is, he's not a Superstar offensive player. He's not going to put up 25-35 points by himself, nor is he going to generate a ton of assists.

This is one of the scenarios where Beverley on the floor hurts you. Sure, he can defend, however the Pacers don't generate the bulk of their offense through the PG position. Neither does Miami. And he can't stop Tony Parker. Which leads you to the question of how does Beverley affect the game enough to truly impact the Elite teams?

And this isn't even getting into the differential in bench play when you don't have Asik and Lin.

Anyway, just some stuff to chew on.

Can't watch this garbage anymore. Can't believe I'm wasting a Friday Night watching a team that clearly doesn't care.

Hill may not be elite, but he's a real PG. The guy has been way more productive than Bev so far, with slightly less playing time.

To Do list starts with FIRING McHALE.

Just compare Houston's offense with Indiana's. It's not even a comparison.

Pacers do a good job looking for each other on offense and doesn't force many shots.

No competitiveness, no grit, no hustle plays. it looks so easy out there for any Pacer to create shots.

    57.9%FT
    15.4% 3PT
    41%FT

Those are horrible numbers. Sure, Indiana has a good defense, but we just miss a ton of shots we usually make.

Harden with yet another sloppy, uninspired performance.

Man, we need more off-the-ball movement. Only parsons is doing all the cutting. Everyone is rooted to where they are each time Harden has the ball. Just take harden off and let everybody else play team ball.

Might as well, not like there's a meaningful distinction between the 2 and 3. Lebron and George can play the 2 or the 3 (Lebron can play some 4 too) and can defend 1 to 3 (Lebron can depend some 4 too)
