Thats even better. A expring big and a pick, is all that we need. Get outta Asik's contract early (because he's obviously not staying after it) and get a pick

Asik will not be traded on a western team.

Why would you give extra weapons to a team in your own conference?

    No, it's not.

Attacking a person's patriotism is attacking a person's love of their country.
LOF is being used as a blanket attack to imply that a poster does not care about the Rockets.

    It's called an Analogy.

It's one thing to use it as an argument against a person in a Lin thread who is fairly recent to the board, but to use it as a blanket derogatory term on a LONG time poster who was here LONG before Lin joined the Rockets is the same sort of cheap character assassination as saying someone doesn't love their country when you disagree with what they say.

Of course, not everyone is going to see how it cheapens discourse to attack someone's fandom. After all, it's easier to attack someone's loyalty to the team than their positions, isn't it?

It's the equivalent of intellectual intimidation. It's cheap chicanery meant to silence dissenting viewpoints through implying that any disagreement is an expression of unpatriotic thought.

    Question McHale? LOF!
    Question Beverley? LOF!
    Question Dwight? LOF!
    Question Howard? LOF!
    Question Parsons? LOF!
    Question a poster? LOF!

It's the sports equivalent of McCarthyism... an attempt to create an intellectual atmosphere where those that disagree will be "outed" as "LOFs" and therefore are "unreliable" as Rockets fans.

You don't need to be a Rockets only fan to see it for what it is...

You don't like being dismissed the way you like to dismiss people by calling them LOFs?

What's saddening and disappointing is that this has been encouraged and indeed promoted by clutch. This kind of personal attack should have no place on a message board that hopes to encourage constructive discussion.

It's akin to a witch hunt and the analogy to the Mcarthy era is apt. The hypocrisy of those who use the term LOF is not only astounding but perhaps to be expected of the kind of person that would resort to this kind of low level intellectual bullying to begin with.

Yep. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays out his deal here & then walks during "The Summer of Love."

Love isn't a FA until 2016. Neither is KD.

LMA, Bosh, Lebron should be free agents or can choose to be.

Bosh and Lebron will be free agents this summer for sure. They have the ETO. Unlikely they play out their extra year.

Sorry Chuck but Love does not have a player option on his deal. He could force a trade by refusing an extension.

Edit: looking around I do see articles that his deal does have ETO.

Really? Spotrac is usually pretty reliable & it says "2015 Player Option." Unless I'm reading it wrong.

Kevin Love is able to opt out of his contract after the 2014-2015 season.

I checked out hoopshype, which isn't very reliable so you may be right.

I'll take it though and this made me happy!

Because if you trade him to the East today, he can be flipped to the West for the better deal at the deadline anyways.
