Why keep Asik if he doesn't want to be here ?! Because he makes you better than anything you can trade him for (right now).

Who cares if T.Young wants to come here ?! He's much the same player as T.Jones at 5.5X the cost .... and is undersized for the PF spot at 6'8" , he's not going to offer much in backing up Howard. (Hawes is a much better fit).

Asik's under contract and on a contender ... suck it up and earn your game checks or haul your ass back to Turkey. Would he really rather go be the starter on a lottery team ?! SMH ....

 

Any player or picks acquired by today can be used in a future deal (before Feb trade deadline).

When you flip a player, it just means getting a player and then trading that player again.

You can also flip items such as weed, Jordan shoes, etc. LOL

 

Maybe it is Morey needs to wake up. Every GM in the league know Asik is capable to do and is unhappy here. Plus, for next season, his salary is 15m. Yet, Morey wants the world for Asik.

Do you make a trade that makes your team worse ?! If so there has to be some form of compensation (draft pick / young player with potential) or you simply don't make the deal.

 

Hmm. You say the west? What about Channing frye? I dont know how his contract is, and i know he wpnt be coming here without some first round picks, but I did read an article about how the Suns are now shifting their mode to win now.

Asik for Frye and 2 first round picks? Even thought I like he Hawes deal better, if Hinike is not budging. Lets see if Phoenix is interested.

Frye has a player option for next year. While I think he would be somewhat of a fit here, I don't know if Morey would feel like that contract is easy enough to move at the deadline.

Personally ... I'd prefer Okafor's expiring contract and the 2 picks. Okafor's expiring contract is larger and provides more trade flexibility at the deadline if we have to take on a salary dump to get our 4th star/superstar.

 

This is a perfect game for Asik to start rebuilding his trade value.

 

Hak34 was the instigator, however there's a difference between accusing someone of not knowing basketball or saying that they are a homer (very common on basketball boards), and attacking their "fandom".

One is saying that the other person is not seeing or understanding reality, the other is attacking the person's motives and goals (doesn't care about the team).

It's like the difference between being in a political debate and saying the other person is misinformed and blinded by ideology, and calling them a communist and Unamerican.

I have political disagreements with friends and I might call them ignorant, misinformed, or blind to reality. I would never question their patriotism or imply they don't care about their country.

Using the term "LOF" as a blanket derogatory term is no different than saying someone isn't a patriot. It's an attack on intention and core character, and in this case sadly ironic in its use.

Asik will be here until the Summer for the very least. Morey even mentioned him being here for "years". Leverage will be Morey's one way or the other.
