Remember when everyone wanted to trade Courtney Lee for Asik when Asik was with the Bulls. Funny how if we trade Asik for Lee Now!!!
Jeremy Lin for Jameer Nelson Asik for Milsap Nelson/Bev Harden/Garcia Parsons/Casspi Milsap/Jones Howard/Smith
Omer Asik for Pau Gasol straight up. Gasol can still play, I blame Dan Tony. He would make a nice back up C. Or a three team deal involving Greg Stiemsma coming here and Asik going to another team not named the Pelicans. Stiemsma would make an excellent back up center. He can rebound, block shots, athletic, and he's cheap too.
asik to Celtics thad young n lee to hou bass n dmo n Celtics pick to 76ers... asik wants out, thad wants out, dmo wants out... Celtics were cool with bass/lee/1st for asik...
Rockets in: Hawes, Chalmers + MIA 2014 1st round pick from PHI (1-14 protected 2014/2015) http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=meop4tu
I feel that Lee,Faverani,Brooks would be fine with me for Asik+Donatas. IMO Boston is probably the best trade partner we can get. I dont think Asik is worth a first round pick,Boston wont give it up at all.We dont need Bass when we have Jones. Might as well trade Asik for roleplayers who could do better when Garcia and Casspi arent cutting it. Bev/Lin/A.Brooks Harden/Lee/M.Brooks Parsons/Casspi/Garcia/Brewer Jones/Greg Smith/Donatas Howard/Faverani I'm starting to think Asik is starting to be overrated on this board. Is he really going to be worth more by February?
So in this deal, Portland wants Thad Young. Philly wants 3 young guys from Portland. Then why don't they just do that deal? Instead, for no reason, Philly gives away Spencer Hawes to Houston and takes on Joel Anthony? That makes no sense. There's no reason at all why Portland or Philly would want Houston/Miami in this deal.
Oops I guess I had Jmc's post marked on Multi-Quote a while ago. I didn't mean to quote it here. DMO would be disappointed with me.
I wouldn't think that the Rockets would want to send Asik to Miami. When we play them in the finals it will be easier without Asik in the middle.
**** it, let's trade Asik to Miami. Miami gets: Omer Asik, Greg Smith and Ronnie Brewer Rockets get: Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Chris Andersen and Miami's 2014 1st rd and 2nd rd pick(s)
I suspect Morey is a bit less categorical and enthusiastic than that and would trade anyone to anyone for the right price. But if you look at the actual prices, you'll see that Miami isn't giving all that much in that particular idea. The main piece (Hawes) actually comes from Philly, which doesn't get any compensation.
Miami still has its own 2014 1st and 2nd round picks. Send those to PHI; add Motiejunas. Rockets in: Hawes, Chalmers, MIA 2014 1st round pick from PHI [1-14 protected 2014/2015] 76ers in: DMo, Anthony, MIA 2014 1st & 2nd round picks (too much?)
So the Heat upgrade their center from Anthony to Asik and Chalmers to Beverley (don't know if that one is an upgrade)? Now their team is Asik, Bosh, Lebron, Wade, and Beverley with Allen, Battier, Anderson, etc on the bench? Yeah no thanks on helping the Heat.
Bobcats get Asik and Prison I Knicks get Ramon sessions Rockets get shumpert and haywood. I think the Knicks would have to cut someone or throw in a bench warmer for salary purposes. I like the Idea of working with the bobcats, because they have some prospects, an extra pick, and a big expiring contract (Ben Gordon). They're good to have as a facilitator in a 3 team trade, or even a straight up deal with just us. I think they'd like Asik to pair with Jefferson.
