Sure, if I was confident in my ability to be really good in the first year and thought them finding a better option subsequent to that was a long shot.

Only at the Toyota Center. Any other floor would be fine for him.

People do this all the time in other fields. These guys are usually very talented and easily find work elsewhere. These types never end up on the unemployment line.

I don't care if he told Asik, harden, Dwert promises before hand to get him here but to come out making unnecessary self imposed dates of trades (Asik) and then backfiring on you and gms labeling you as a bluffer it's a big ****ing deal to me. On top of that what pisses me off is the morey fans here making it seem like nothing happened. I like morey too sometimes you have to admit your mistakes to be called a man.

This bluff is not hurting us now but it hurt us in the long business run.

In before, "so you want crap deal done bass and lee for Asik?"

I just don't let anyone treat me like an asset.

exactly. if the team can treat it as business, Omer can do it too, so "it's a business" should go two ways, you cant use it as a pass to one party then in the next second start to blame the other party.

Asik is treating himself like an asset. Morey wants him to stay and win championships.

Exactly. I guarantee you nobody with any authority ever made any such promise to Asik. It's a stupid thing to even say.

Dude, give it a rest. You have already proved ad nauseum that you have no clue what you are talking about. You are wrong. Period. Have a cookie and relax.

The Rockets couldn't promise that. They had no stars, couldn't afford to be selective in any way about which star they got, and were still in the Dwight Howard Hunt at the time they signed Asik. Asik signed in July... Dwight wasn't traded to LA until August. I even had conversations about that in Vegas with Rockets officials -- why sign Omer Asik now when you're still pursuing Dwight?

When Mack Brown recruits 5 star QB's he supposedly agrees to not recruit anyone to compete for the position for awhile. It's a selling tool. Didn't work out so well.

Asik got replaced as a starter by a player who's clearly better than he is. Sure, he may be disappointed for a while, but the fact that he's still angry says a lot. The situation isn't even like Lin's, who got replaced by a player who clearly isn't better than he is. If anyone should be pissed, it's him, but that's not his nature.

Okay, back to Morey's original plan now ...

Time for Asik to grow up and face reality. Life does not go as we have planned it. Bosses make promises that they can't keep. They need to look at the bigger picture. Time to grow up and make the best out of what life hands us.

I think Asik gets over his funk and plays hard ...

you r putting you small brain in wrong place. this league is players' league, so your “employers" in fact cant bossing around, even they pay millions. any misconduct lead to bad karma, word travel fast among players. why rockets end up kneel down and beg to land a star several years back?
