    wow. Could be a freak accident but me thinks he didn't take enough time to rehab. Muscles atrophy and its easier to get injured when you have less neuromuscular control after not playing pro for so long.

    Totally a compensation injury... he should've gone the DRose route and sat out this year.

    Lakers played better without Kobe, but still are not gonna make the playoffs.

    Phoenix gets the Lakers pick anyways so they are in a lose-lose situation.

    Lakers get their first rounder this year. Perfect time to tank but the east is so bad it'll be hard to go top 5. Of course who would be shocked if the Lakers won the lotto?

    No wonder the Lakers tried to reach out to Morey yesterday.

    They knew Kobe was hurt all along but they didn't want to blow their leverage by announcing Kobe's injury. Morey shuts trade talks down now they announce Kobe's injury.

    This might be an ideal time for the rockets to trade Lin + Asik for Gasol/Kaman and one of their wing players.

    Or work some sort of a three way deal with another team.

    I bet if he hangs it up, people are going to say he went out like a soldier, he was like MJ and tried to just man up etc etc. Truth is, he was stupid to come back so soon and he's just too proud to admit he's not the same and will never play at a high level again. It's over baby, just accept it like a man.
