Morey is basically using Boston and Philly as leverage to get the better deal.

Along with Boston, Philadelphia remains very involved in the Omer Asik talks with Houston, league sources tell Yahoo.

It's funny how homerism works. 2 years ago some people here were having meltdowns at the idea of trading Courtney Lee for Asik. Fire Morey if he trades Lee for a backup scrub, hell no C Lee is worth way more than that, etc.

Now it's the other way around. Some people will never be happy with the end result. Anything useful we get for Omer will be a plus, since he's giving us absolutely nothing on the court right now.

Woj is struggling on this trade compared to others or has been told to shut his mouth on certain things

ok after looking at yesterday's poopoo plater Boston is throwing on the table, I'd take Hawes or Young and a non-lotto pick swap.

Give me a better example to describe how homerism is blinding some people here.

Bass? thadeus? The long rockets history of getting undersized forwards keeps following the cycle never fails...

Exactly. Some people think they know what the market should be for Asik and what we should get back for him today. Hadn't sat in on any conversations or meetings with any NBA execs or GMs, but they KNOW better than Morey!

Asik does not want to play here anymore and is giving us NOTHING to help us win games. He decided not to buy into the team this summer and wanted out. So HE messed up his own value. Whatever we get for him is better than what he is giving the team this year, ship his 'butt' out the door today.

Just do a trade with CHA.

I think that is Moreys last option.

    Bismack and Pick for Asik.

I like Morey's philosophy: If he can't get a good deal, then he'll just keep Asik. Even a disgruntled Asik is much better than these rumored deals combined.

Reading all the other teams' forums who have been rumored to be in the running for Asik, the reactions are pretty consistent: "OMFG we might get Asik! Our team would rock then! Let's lowball Morey since he has no leverage. We can get Asik for spare parts!"

If nobody steps up with a real bid, then Morey will keep Asik, past Dec 19, past the trade deadline, or past the entirety of Asik's contract. It's not about taking the best deal available: There is always walking away when there isn't a good deal available and keep what you have.

I will take a disgruntled Asik over any of these rumored crap deals. If they want Asik, then step up with a good deal, otherwise, f*** off and keep your crap.

It will be our loss if Boston backs out. Not because their assets are better than team X but because every hour that passes we lose credibility.

We may be a little delusional, but not too delusional.

Lets not forget Asik is a top 10 center, a great rebounder, great defender (one of the best), 7ft 255 and is only 27.

Hoping for Green or Young/Hawes and a first isn't delusional IMO
