i see your point, but people keep focusing on this issue from a Rockets' standpoint, when the argument can easily be made that it's an incentive for the teams we trade with as well. Who's to say that some team isn't interested in repackaging Asik with draft picks to get a player or a better draft pick at the deadline? You could frame it either way. I don't think it's a big deal at all.

He may not be moved with Asik. He may be moved instead of Asik.

I wonder if watching the Greg Smith backed reserve unit made Morey have second thoughts about this trade?

If I'm Morey, I probably at least threaten to pull out entirely. I contact Arm Tellem and Omer and tell him that its very likely a deal wont get done that does not damage the organization long term, and put the ball in their court to then seek avenues for him to either get a better trade put together for Morey, simply play basketball & shut up, or to seek avenues in court to dissolve his contract(which wont happen).

I dont know what is happening behind closed doors, but I will tell you this, Morey's affections & relationship with Omer right now is far too diplomatic. They are not doing Omer a disservice by bringing him off of the bench. I felt bad for him for a second when I heard he was upset, and then thought.... you are getting paid 8+ million a year, and will be a free agent in a year and a half... shut up and play or stop cashing those checks.

I didn't even want to boo McGrady when he came back, but I will absolutely boo the crap out of Omer when he comes back to Houston. He is really screwing this team, and probably himself as well.

Boom daddy. Morey can put the pressure squarely on Tellum today to help get appropriate value for Asik.

I think a reasonable theory right now is the Rockets are playing chicken with the Celtics over which draft pick or picks comes to Houston... otherwise they do a deal with Philadelphia. That is just a theory though.

What's your guess for who's involved in a Philly trade?

the high rebounding was also a product of the fact that we had no one else capable of getting rebounds.. its kinda like a player puttign up alot of points bc no one else on the team can score
