Yeah but weapons are more balanced on Counter Strike and the maps don't exactly encourage camping. Counter Strike is all about skill. In CoD it's easy to camp and kill someone before they can turn to fire back. Skilled players prefer more hp because it allows them to recover and counter.
I'm not sure if you're being serious or not. CS all about skill? And no one camps in CS? I've been playing since it was simply a mod in 1999, and it is hilarious to say that no one camps in CS. Heck, CF's own Harrisment used to be the king of campers.
Want to level up fast? Play commander on a 64-slot server. I got on average of 7000-8000XP per 15-20 minute match playing commander last night (usually conquest). The best part was, I won 9 out of 10 matches I was commander - thus increasing my XP even more. Keep your two drones in the air at all times, as soon as the cool down is up on each drone, resend them out. Flying them over the most contested map points brings in the most XP. Use all skills as soon as they are available, including disrupting the other commander, upgrading squads, reinforcing squads, supply drops, vehicle drop, etc. FYI - vehicle drop is the least rewarding. Order the squads individually to the most important points on the maps. Each contested point is assigned a reward, like infantry scan, vehicle scan, missiles and gunships. Taking control of the most important zones (like the missiles and gunships) can net you easy kill while helping your team in the process. If you see one or two of your teammates trying to cap a point on their own, use the UAV to scout for them. You'd be surprised how many 1-2 man caps happen if they know where the enemies are. The importance of commanders on matches goes overlooked. From my experience, the team with a commander (or the better commander) wins about 80% of the matches. Most of the time you'll be a commander by yourself, while the other team neglects to use one.
You can use your normal setup (PC, Xbox, PS). Go to the change team area once you join a map (differs on system), and you can enter as commander. Note: once you are commander you stay commander until you leave the server, resign your commission or are voted out. This is a good explanation of it. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/L4KpH_-nHNU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Where did I say no one camps? And yes CS is about skill because everyone is pretty much on even playing fields. You don't have all these perks and various attachments and environments where you can hide and put claymores. People who camp in CS are the ones who usually get owned. CS is about acquiring targets and shooting first with not much room for error.
Even playing field? The entire point of CS is to gain money so you have an advantage, and once you have that advantage it is EASY to keep it because you can buy grenades, armor, secondary weapons, etc. CS if also full of campers, and always has been. I love CS, and I've played it for fourteen years, but you're trying to make it into the perfect FPS or military shooter, when it is far from that.
And how do you gain that money??? And those campers usually get owned unless you're a noob who keeps dying the same way. Also it's easy to keep it up once players adjust. Anytime I start off poorly I try to stay with my teammates to limit deaths and carry out objectives or rack up kills to gain money. You can't just run around like a chicken with hits head cut off unless you're that good. CS is not perfect but no game is. It certainly requires more skill than CoD or Battlefield 4.
Also forgot to add everyone starts off in the same position from the start of game and you earn what you get. That is different than already having all these guns, perks, attachments, vehicles, etc.
It's pretty obvious anyone who complains about camping is just complaining. It's a playstyle. It's like complaining, "Freaking rushers." I'm a run and gun, and occasionally try and play it smart type. If I get killed by a camper, I go track em down and kill them...if it matters to the objective. If they keep getting me, then they are just good. I avoid them. I tell you what though...for whatever reason, I SUCK at sniping. I just can't seem to hit things very well. And I don't know if I'm trippin' but I have to burst fire like crazy to control my muzzle drift. It seems like other people go full auto and can control things very well. Crazy.
I'm better at sniper this year than last. It's back to BF2 levels of ease for me. I just don't snipe very often though.
