Agreed. I didn't even know that was him in the suit sitting in the folding chairs on the end of the bench until my buddy pointed it out to me. He was looked really happy. I was also thinking that it could just be that he was surrounded by a lot of his old Bulls buddies and that was why he showed up and was happy.

Lin looked pretty happy too for someone in serious back pain.

This guy has taken over TMAC as my most disliked pouting b*stard. No one can touch snottie quitten, but this clown is gaining .Even JVG blasted him in the broadcast for being selfish.

Said something along the lines of I'm surprised that he isn't willing to at least give it a try for this season because The Rockets will have elite rim protection for 48 minutes and Asik will still be effective in enough minutes. Translation, stop being selfish and put success first.

Lin to his credit even unhappy behind the seconds showed class and accepted his sixth man role with class and dignity

Don't get me wrong. I like the idea of getting 48 minutes of elite rim protection but I would not hesitate to trade it agianst 36 minutes of protection and 48 minutes of solid offensive production (12-14 pt off the bench) by a two way player

Looks like he's happy he's going to the Celtics.

Lin looks sad that he's not being traded too.

I think I disagree with JVG's assessment. If I was in Asiks shoes on a contract with only 1.5yrs left and on average only one more contract left in my career (big men generally don't play super long) I wouldn't want to play 6mpg on a contender for the remainder of that contract driving my value way down on the next contract.

It's a business and you have to look out for your lively hood before chasing championships, especially at this stage of his career.

He didn't say Asik should stay for all the duration of his contract, he meant give it a go for at least this season for a chance of a championship and then look to leave next season if he is still unhappy.I think that's the right thing to do.

If the garbage bass/lee rumor is true, we are not getting any better. Asik destroyed his value by pouting. Had he pretended to be happy and let Morey do what he does behind the scenes, we would have got a much better deal.

Big men have the longest careers of anybody. I'm not sure why, but I always thought it was because the smaller players rely on their quickness and that goes away the more you age.

You're right, if that trade goes thru it will be a horrible trade for the Rockets. Hopefully Morey pulls out some great move at the end. I would leave Asik sitting on the bench before I would make that trade.

Lin looks like he's paying attention to the huddle. Asik looks like he's having a great time and not giving a f**k.

Interesting, I learned something today! Intuitively I'd expect big men to run into a lot more career ending injury issues.

However, Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald wrote that Celtics president Danny Ainge made that offer a week ago, but was turned down at the time by Morey.

Did someone picked that up? I didn't see it anywhere. This offer might not be on the table anymore...
Also Boston is getting good in weak Eastern conference, so that means the pick is less valuable...?
