whats the best way to boost endurance? I have really good bursts of speed but fatigue easily. Long term cardio health is best indicated by endurance
Honestly..... run A LOT.... That's how we were taught. People are always motivated when they see actual physical improvement. So always increase your distance at least once a week. There are probably smarter more efficient ways but the way we were trained was "more the better". Also, learn proper breathing when running long distances. Plenty of people waste their energy by uncontrolled breathing. If you are running for endurance, speed is not necessarily that important, so keep a pace where your breathing is still controlled. Improving endurance is a long gradual process. I would say most people reach their mental limit first before their physical limit. That itself is key. Improving your mental endurance can sometimes play a bigger role.
Someone who trains to play sports such as basketball or football at a high level will have better agility and bursts of speed than someone like me who was trained for endurance with load bearing or basically a mule.
pretty much, with rugby theres a huge focus on interval, short burst types. Literally sprint 60m, rest, sprint 60m, do that about eight times, then do some other block of stuff. Worst stuff is the change of direction especially for the heavier players
Start slow at half a mile. I did that starting around the year 2005. Now 8 years later I can run upwards of 15 miles in 95 degree weather with no water non stop. It just takes time and effort. No one is really built an long distance runner unless you are from Sub Saharan Africa.
College: Made the baseball team and basketball team at major D1 program Ran track & cross country at major D1 program Conclusion: Go home brah, you cannot hang.
I'd destroy you at yahoo pool though. But seriously, to bad I'm not in Houston to destroy your ass at "soccer".. I would run circles around you
Drive over to Beaumont.. We have a big group of guys that play ball. I guarantee you couldn't run with us. Let me know if you are interested. I'll make sure to have 11-13 guy. Run full court and were all friends. No petty bs.
Has he even joined in one of the clutchfans pick up games? Wonder if anyone has actually seen this guy play in person.
LOL flag football......lulz Let me know as soon as you are a star while playing the kind of football where people actually hit you. Coed intermural champion...that is your point to brag about?? and tennis???? I was three sport, baseball pitcher....SF/PF in basketball and TE/DE in REAL football. If I wasnt pushing 50, I guarantee you I would flatten your skinny butt in any REAL sport.
This is nothing special. Paul is trying to overcompensate because he's average at best. I coach a few freshman that would dismantle you without breaking a sweat. If that is a vid of you at the free throw line (even though you were messing around), you're just not strong enough to compete. Even with my injuries, I'd take you, and I'm sure I'm at least a few years older than you. I do appreciate your confidence. No doubt you have that down.
....I have much more respect now for people that played baseball in the past. Does a number on your body, especially in the joints. I watched a documentary on life after baseball, and people's knees and bows were just shredded to nothing.
You sound like a stuck up prick, these are things you don't tell yourself or tell others instead keep it to yourself. Confidence is one thing but this is downright cockiness, you don't know anyone on the forums so how can you assume you are more athletic than a couple 1000 people you haven't even met yet even played basketball with.
Yeah, lets just say at this point in my life, if I throw a ball at anything approaching decent speed for a high schooler, my arm hurts. When the weather changes I can feel it in my knee from where I caught a Spoiler helmet Spoiler ha ha, you were expecting maybe a arrow??? in the knee from a tackle I was abusing in a game. Funnily enough, my favorite of the major sports(basketball) is the only one I never was injured playing, not even a major sprain of any kind. I loved playing the sports, but it does affect your body.
