Getting Courtney Lee will allow Harden to rest more

Coaches are used to flexing minutes and going with different combinations for our guards. As they often say, in our system, 1-3s are the same. Lee can play pointguard too in a pinch.

He and Goran played phenomenal when we lost both Lowry and Martin on Mchale's 1st year here.

I remember Celtics fans were so happy for getting Courtney Lee. Then he ended up playing like mugbutt for them.

 

This. As long as the trade itself takes this factor into account, I'm fine. This is why I am adamant that they include a ATL/Nets pick(Celtics get the lesser of the two) or Celtics own pick with lottery protection. Not the Clippers pick. The 2014 pick should have quite a bit of value for any future Morey moves.

Worst case scenario for Lee is that we have to give up an asset like Cannan or a crappy 1st to dump Lee in 2015 for Love to come. But until then, Lee can be quite important for this team.

 

We aren't getting Lee so don't worry about him backing up Harden.

 

I remember creating a poll to see if we would want to trade Lee for asik a while back..jeez smh...

 

Asik worth 1st round pick of this year....not next year from Clippers. This is BS!! If Boston is not willing giving up this year's draft...screw them!

 

Harden is young, entering his prime and can well withstand 39 minutes a night. There is no indication otherwise.

 

Lee can score off the bench and can defend the wing. Lee would be an expiring contract if Morey chose to move him two years from now. Tack on another asset, it can't be that hard to move Lee. Especially if he produces as a Rocket

 

People are worrying about 2015 but adding Bass/Lee will help the Rockets now as it gives them depth. As opposed to Asik who we don't have minutes to give to/doesn't want to be here.

 

never liked lee...an inconsistent shooter and not a big wing defender...but i'll take him just to rest harden and fill some D to our back court

 

I sure hope not. He is an ok player, but I always thought he was way overrated by Rocket fans.

now that we are a contender with 2 elite players, 1 very good player he will fill that role better
