There was about a 1% chance of Ainge trading Rondo without seeing him play on the floor. And even then, only if the offer was obscene.

You don't trade premium players while they're injured. That's just bad negotiation.

I wouldn't expect Rondo to be remotely available for a trade until January or February, if at all. And rumor is the Kings are willing to pay a king's ransom for him... as in Thomas + Thomphson + McLemore, 2 x 1st round picks, and more.

I doubt we even get remote consideration in a Rondo trade since Morey isn't going to be willing to massively overpay. Rondo is good, but not THAT good.

Asik's value has fallen a lot since last season, when he was averaging a double-double. Now we're talking about unloading him for a 1st rnd pick and an expiring. SMH.

Expiring? I'd take an expiring over the crap contract of Bass and Lee.

 

Asik's value dropped in the off season when he demanded a trade publicly once Dwight signed. At that moment Morey last all leverage he had at trading Asik. Didn't help much with him playing like some unmotivated poop so far this season

Then I would take the opposite approach with the deadline. Neither Bass nor Lee will be a flip-able piece IMO. So I would do the deal on Friday so that Boston can't flip Asik to a rival for something closer to his true value.

Still can't fathom a Bass, Lee trade. Trolling the Celtics blog they are ecstatic to get those contracts off their books and I don't blame them.

Honestly barring a significant first round pick, I'd rather keep Asik then lose cap flexibility.
