As Ken Berger mentions, teams don't want Bass and Lee give their contract numbers. You are not getting draft picks for them just like you are not getting picks for Jeremy Lin under his current contract.

 

But that deadline would be to make a deal for pieces we could flip in Feb. Lee has negative value with that contract with most all other teams and Bass's value isn't a make or break piece. So why not wait until the feeding frenzy begins in Feb?

 

Screwed over? Trade Lin and Asik and there combined cap hit of 16 million, for an expiring deal that will give you even more cap space to grab the best free agent and still resign Parsons with his bird rights all while having James Harden and Dwight Howard.

I loved Asik while he was here CONTRIBUTING to the team, but since he no longer does, at least we are getting some value from him in this trade. Maybe it's not the glamorous trade we all dreamed of, but we at least improve defensively on the perimeter and at the 4 spot (Jones has a ways to go to be good defensively). Morey is always thinking about the future, and maybe this is a decrease in "valuable" assets, but our team overall should improve, and that's the whole point of a trade to begin with. Good day

You don't give up on someone like Dmo with his skillset for Bass and Lee IMO. Rather just take a flyer and see what he can become. If he loses value so be it, it was a risk worth taking.

 

I think this rumored deal is all bs. I guarantee this is all stuff coming out of Boston.

We all know Murray the actual trade made is always way different than the "leaks" are. None of our local guys have any scoop because Murray is keeping it tight lipped.

 

You missed the 1st round pick which is more valuable than either of them.

I thought if the team you're trading Asik to was under the cap (I assume the Celtics are) the salaries don't have to match ? how big is their trade exception ?
