Omer Asik Trade. Rumors, Tweets and Updates. (Deadline Dec 20th)

Most non Rockets fans think the trade is more than fair. I don't like it personally because of Lee's contract but Morey is smarter than me. If this trade does down then it's going to be anti-climatic.

 

The way people are acting in this thread is such a shame.

Stop flipping out over speculation. When was the last time that morey made a laughably horrid trade...? I'll wait.

Bullshat. What exactly did you expect him to get? If other teams aren't biting then there's not much he can do. And Asik's value would only continue to decrease the longer he sat on the bench and pouted.

Bass and Lee, while not exactly exciting acquisitions, are significant upgrades over what we have at those positions right now. The team gets better. What the hell else do you expect?

 

Why are people pissed, I didn't t hink a pouting Asik would get us anything to begin with

plus I like Lee he guards two positions better than Bev and he's a good 3 point shooter.

Why is Feigen talking about including DMo?

 

I don't think he will see the floor unless there is an injury or someone is in foul trouble. I think the Rockets really like going small with Casspi and I just don't see Bass as an upgrade to TJones.

 

I'm just shocked that the same fans who watched Asik dominate last season and know how hard it was to land a legit 7 foot center think this is a good trade. I don't care when some 2012er says Asik sucks.

 

The way to look at it is this. Every team rumored to be in this is pretty much out.

Boston has a trade exception they could absorb Asik into. But the Rockets would get nothing.

Boston could offer Bass for Asik, but Morey says get real.

Morey wants Boston's 2014 pick most likely. Boston says yeah right take Brooklyn's which Atlanta has the right to swap. Morey says no, we want your pick.

Boston says we'll give you the pick....but you gotta take Lee off our hands.

If this is the deal I like it. Bass will be good addition off the bench and Lee will be to. Salary wise I'm not in love with it but we will have time to figure that part out. People who think Love or LMA are coming via FA in 2015 are delusional if either comes here it will be via trade before 2015 or via sign in trade in 2015. If this trade is what's being discussed it gives us a pick plus a contract and don't forget T-Jones will be apart of any deal to get love or LMA. But for right now this trade as talked about helps us greatly.

 

I don't get that tweet. Asik contract alone makes the deal work, no need for DMo to be included.

 

it would be either lee or bass...morey won't be taking both contracts. is the deadline midnight?
