Part of me thinks this is the lump of coal in the stocking for Christmas, but...

Really, what are we getting out of Asik right now? Nothing. Oh wait, locker room disruption and bad PR, but aside from that, nothing.

I'm not so sure about Bass but at least he'e be a massive improvement over DMo. At the very least. And I wouldn't mind at all to get Lee back. He could help tremendously, because quite a few of our losses are a result of getting zero production out of the second team. And throw in a pick... Not too bad. Sure, could be better, but I definitely see this as helping the team now and adding assets for future moves. Asik's stock was only going to go down by staying.

If this is what we can get than I'm OK with it. Not excited, but OK.

Agree, Pau is good for another two years. Not sure if salary works tho.

 

If Bass and Lee is the deal, we got better as a team because Asik had essentially quit on the team. Lee will help us with our biggest weakness, perimeter d. Bass seems to be a more consistent PF with a nice jumper.

If we get a nice 1st round pick out of this, it may not be a bad deal after all, especially by the February deadline.

 

Not sure why everyone is whining about Courtney Lee and Bass. Bass is a BIG upgrade over Dmo, and Lee is a HUGE upgrade over Garcia.

 

Call me crazy, but I like the idea of getting Gasol. I thought they showed glimpses of playing well together last season, and he solves a need at PF and backup C. Get Gasol and Blake or Farmar and give up Lin and Asik. Maybe try to work a 3 way in order to get a good first out of it as well.

 

I have a feeling Dwight influenced this deal somehow... trying to get back his best friend C Lee and former teammate Bass

It does make sense to make this trade. Asik isn't contributing, and Boston is giving up a good perimeter defender and a four who is a good shooter that plays good defense. Oh wait, that's what the Rockets are lacking.

Funny enough, when asik was with the Bulls - we tried to get him for Lee. We look to have come full circle.

 

If we can't move Asik for more what will we get for Pau?

That softie is not going to stay for long. I doubt his contract will be tradable.

 

But what about the 2015 free agency? Are we gonna have to pay the piper later on to get a team to take Lee off our hands, since his contract runs to 2016...

 

Seems like this will be one of the few times Morey gets fleeced. Getting back a bunch of trash in return for Omer.

I agree with this, did we make a MAJOR upgrade no, but at the same time we did get better if only asik is leaving because he basically isn't even on the roster at this point.
