Kevin Martin(expiring), Lamb(young player on a long term rookie scale), guaranteed lottery Toronto pick, Dallas 1st round pick, Charlotte 2nd round pick is vastly different than two bad contracts and one 1st round pick which will probably be comparable to dallas 1st round pick.

I'd be OK with expiring and solid 1st round pick for Asik. Bass and Lee don't make any sense.

Yeah, give one of the best big man defenders to a team in our own conference to guard Dwight.

Howard, Bass, Lee and Howards trainer is what we got so far. Gotta rack up as much from that Orlando finals team as we can lol.

All this complaining about Lee's contract, what about the even more increasing amount of fine females at games with Parsons and Lee here together??

exactly and kobe is signed for the next two years. It makes sense for them. Plus Pau comes off the books. And he is a legit center to back up dwight.

    It won't happen though.

I wouldn't take any player that plays for the Lakers because players love playing in LA so much they lose their sparkle when they leave LA. Just like Lamar Odom when he was traded to Dallas.

Pau and a 1st would be better than the boston garbage deal.
    Please, let Mr. Stein speak.

But remember why he was cut.

It was because of the roster size and what we had at that time. We had guaranteed contracts that we couldn't cut and Lin wasn't guaranteed.

They publicly said they wanted to keep him but the logistics of contract situations forced their hands.

It was a gamble they were forced to take and Lin just happened to get better when given a chance.

Why pay $30,000,000 for a couple of vet min type players? These aren't even MLE type players.

And if we are trading now so that we can add one of these 2 in a future deal later this season, is there really any GM thinking "if I only had Lee/Bass and ...". Lee has negative value with that contract. Bass players could be picked up any time. Since neither players are value pieces that can easily be trade in Feb, why trade now? The only reason you would do that is if the pick is a heck of a pick which it doesn't sound like it.

Hold out DM. Wait until Feb and get in on one of those deals. GMs don't appear to be Christmas shopping right now.

The Lakers have no firsts to trade until 2018 IIRC. Or seconds.

but no one knew he would break out the way he did. I think any other gm would have done the same thing had they been in his position.
