I like the idea of having Lee back...can shoot the 3, handle the ball, defend multiple positions.

I am not a fan of Bass, but he can play the 4 and sometimes the 5. All depends on the pick we can get.

 

Everybody needs to remember that any deal made today is to facilitate a trade for tomorrow. I would guess that there will not be a press release over this move today. Any/Some of these guys will be wearing different jerseys on Friday night.

Garcia can't be traded without his consent, something with an "early bird" contract. Aaron Brooks is the same way.

How do you figure we need more depth? We just gave our BEST depth asset in Asik for two mediocre players who only are playing 15-20 minutes a game on a crappy team. We already have Casspi, Garcia, Motiejunas, Brewer, Brooks, Greg Smith, and possibly Canaan next year. How does this move help turn us to a contender now?

IMO and almost everyone here knows Morey can find depth from 1st or 2nd round picks, euro stash, free agency, and 10-day contracts (Beverley). That's the last thing we should be worried about is MORE depth on an already crowded roster. Plus we didn't even get back a legit backup center.

 

I am sensing that this #1 pick being argued won't be a lottery pick. So unless the hope is getting a #1 via trade of someone else on the roster, I am having trouble seeing how we hope to trade for Love with two mid to late #1s and the role players we don't want to hang onto???

Omg guys really? How do you not know your own GM. He is considered to be among the best, if not the best GM in the NBA. He is very smart, and possibly have gone thought about and went thru every single viable trade scenario with his confidants and within him mental. I doubt he does this deal if we do not get the Brooklyn pick this year, secondly I dont see the fuss over Bass when he is clearly better in all phases of the game as compared to Tjones. I just do not like the addition of C.Lee as his contacts messes with our financials going forward. But for Asik, who has destroyed his value, this is a instantly upgrading trade, just because he was actually hurting this team with 0 contributions.

I believe we will be gettin a better package than this, with a third team involved, Morey knows this team is in WIN NOW mode, and he is the reason we have even made it this far. Be patient, and good things will come. :grin:

We were all hoping for Millsap, but instead, we get Bass...a mediocre PF who isn't much, if at all, an upgrade over TJones.

What are you thinking Morey? Nobody will want them if he's thinking about trading them in February.
