The Celtics are playing above their talent at this point, and Ainge knows that the Celtics are not in a position to contend anytime soon.

That #1 (depending on the specifics) could be key to us getting a player we really want closer to the deadline. The league has shifted in just the last year, #1 picks hold more value that before. The depth of this draft, the new CBA and the greater dependence on analytics all have increased the value of the #1 pick.

This is really not that different than the Lowry deal.

 

Brandon Bass would be a downgrade. WTF is Morey thinking??? This is what we all have been waiting for???
