You do mortgage the future if you think your team will be the Kings or Suns of a decade ago...... very good, but not good enough.

Look, Morey has shown the ability to develop "good" players like Beverley, Jones, Morris and many others. It is far harder to get another elite player.

My guess is, that if this deal goes down, that #1 pick is going to be packaged with someone like Beverley or Jones or Lin for a more elite player.

 

This trade doesn't make any sense.

Asik is our best trading chip and this is what we are getting for him...

Lee is overrated by this board. He has been terrible in Boston.

Bass... don't even let me begin about that guy.

Need to know about the picks, but we are in win-now mode, who cares about ANOTHER young guy. We need a solid starting 4.

I don't mind it. Lee is a decent defender off the bench, Bass is a nothing, but that 1st round pick should be a lottery pick

IMO neither of those tweets preclude a three team trade. But they do say that we're getting the pick, which is good.

 

Bet this trade either breaks down to the haggling over the pick or Boston gives in and we do this deal

 

What's the point of making this deal by 12/19? Doubt either Lee or Bass are flippable by the trade deadline.

 

lee did great in his ROOKIE year with a finals team. think about it, he hasn't seen a great situation since.

People getting their panties in a wad over nothing. Morey waited until today so that players obtained could be repackaged before the trade deadline. If we get trash and a first rounder, don't think for a minute that he is planning on drafting. He knows most GM"s are gamblers who can't resist the allure of a lottery pick (like most of the nubs on this board, incidentally). If we don't get useful talent, it will be gone by February.

 

Looks like Morey is getting out Moreyed but the Celtics
