If I am moving Asik to Boston I am going to begin any conversation with insisting on Avery Bradley coming to Houston unless some really nice draft picks are coming back to Houston.

Bass is fine as a back up 4, and Faverani is "ok" as a back up if Camby is coming back...... but that isn't going to make us a better team.

haha ... why? did bass steal his impersonations?

don't think it's as simplistic as bass joining the team and he became unhappy

Do you not remember the Thomas Robinson Carl bashing??? I'm warning the GARM… its gonna get ugly around here with the Bass bashing….

    or -

-Blowing Bass out of the water
-Throwing Bass back into the water
    -300 pound Bass

etc. etc…. let the cute expressions begin… Hopefully we get these and don't have to deal with gothed out Carl after a bad Thomas Robinson outing. We need to at least get a little humor out of this whole thing.

Your awesome Carl… please don't go all Robert Smith on us again this time.

We don't need depth. We need upgrades at PF or PG, and/or 1st round picks in this upcoming draft.

i stand by what i posted. your posting history here over the past year is just abominable. almost every single post you make in the garm proposes a lin trade. you need to seek help to deal with your obsession.

If we are talking about the Celtic's unprotected 1st rounder then I'm definitely 100% on board with this deal.

Otherwise I'm a little reserved. Lee could provide some depth but both of these players won't do us good in terms of cap space. Probably better off with players that are more flippable yet serviceable.

Another thing with Boston is I think they will keep Asik.

I'm scared of Philly getting Asik and then flipping him to a Western Conf team. That's the worst-case scenario for us--Asik playing against us in a series.

Any trade would be good for a couple reasons:

First, Morey will take the best offer possible...so if we are only getting a 5th stringer, rest assured that that's the best offer we got. So if you guys are whining about Bass, Lee, and a 1st...then consider yourself fortunate that you didnt see what else was on the table.

Second, anything we get in return will be better than what Asik has contributed to the team this season. He's actually hurt us more than he's helps us, so we are better off with Bass and Lee coming off the bench than getting contribution of 0 from Asik.

    contenders.. need depth.

your post is so dumb. sorry, its so dumb.

this potential trade scenario gives us a solid PF, solid SG, and a 1st round pick.

depth AND upgrades. Point guard is fine when Lin is back at strength. 3 deep with AB0. He's back at his MIP season form in his limited minutes.

How. So we end up with 2 quarters and a fifty cent piece on a dollar. Meh. I'm excited to see what pick that'll be. NJ 2014 pick? Bos 2014 pick?

Courtney Lee, Brandon Bass and a first round pick (not 2014) will go to Houston for Omer Asik. Deal is close, reports Boston Globe.

We really should have moved Omer Asik in the off-season. Asik's value dropped significantly due to his pouting.

We created Asik's value, other NBA teams do not bite it. If we can not get a very good player for a return, then only a good thing is to get the picks, that is my guess.

This Bass and Lee stuff is just smoke screens, Morey using the Celts to drive up other teams offers as we head to the home stretch.

See, the point is that it's REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY HARD to win the NBA title. Even with two bona fide elite players in Howard and Harden, the team's odds for winning is still no more than something like 1 in 8 or 9 as it currently stands. You cannot afford not to pursue every true impact elite addition there is out there and you cannot afford to make a mistake trading away a huge trade asset like Omer Asik for ordinary pieces in return.

Guys like Brandon Bass you can find easily for MLE in free agency. Even Morey can't easily find an Omer Asik this way-- might want to remember that it took 3 years of playing Chuck Hayes and Sam Dalembert at C between Yao and Asik.
