T Jones can't hit the corner 3 on a consistent basis. Or a midrange jumper for that matter. Bass can hit the mid-range.

If this goes down, I trust Morey's vision more than yours.

guys its bass, courtney lee, AND a 1st rounder.

great haul.. we keep frontcourt depth, gain backcourt depth, and get future help for development or trades.

its not the best move fiscally, but the contracts arent huge. they will be movable.


we become a better contender with courtney lee. he was a great finals role player in his rookie year, and since has not found a great situation. this is a great situation.

 

A few days ago, I posted Bass and Lee as players I would like from the Celtics.

They fill holes in our current team, and can play right away, unlike Asik who can't/won't even play. And Lee is already familiar to our coaches and will be able to give Harden and Parsons more rest. He can also provide perimeter defense that is lacking from Garcia this year.

It's very hard to replace Asik's value on our team, but at least we will be able to play Bass and Lee right away. We can then look at other Rockets players that we can flip at trade deadline.

 

Howard was happy and got the team to the finals in 2009. He became unhappy only after Bass joined the team.

 

Maybe it is best for us fans to have low expectations for this trade (aka Bass), so if we get something better, we'll be pleasantly surprised!

Mostly on the info Mark Deeks shared in the off-season but also what David Locke, Kevin Pelton, and to a lesser extent the NBA.com/ESPN guys have mentioned or opinioned during that period.

 

Boston has more than one first picks, Bass is just another player for the salary match. There is no way for the rockets to take Lee because of his salary.

 

so because we get bass, he will instantly become unhappy? I don't understand your logic. There must have been something else that year that made him sour on the Magic.

 

Might be a better pick from Celtics, plus Lee can play some backup 2 since it looks like Harden needs rest.

I'm not sure Hawes is even on the table, unless I missed the news?

 

I like bass in Dallas. haven't seen him play since. Lee did good when Martin went down.

And Asik is not a top 30 NBA player.

 

We created Asik's value. No one thought he could be a starter before Morey came along.

Morey can strike magic again with another guy in the future.
