You think he's happy about that? Why do you think he's been shopping him.

This is Morey guys, whatever ends up happening, it'll be well thought out and possibly not immediately understood.

Since we waived Scola, I don't think Rockets can get Scola back until his current contract is over.

when was the last time anyone has ever been able to predict what trade morey is going to do? I am going to bet it will be a trade where everyone at first says WHAATT ala trades that got us lowery; kevin martin; dragic ; harden; artest and it all works out at the end and goes unpredicted for the most part

FYI, for those of you who haven't been around here that long, and those of you who remember what happened to the GARM after 2Pat was traded.

Carl Herrera LOVES Omer probably more than 2Pat… things could get ugly around here.

(not that I blame you here Carl… I loved Omer too, but this sucks)

Patrick Patterson at least did something "special" for a PF: shooting midrange Js and corner 3s. And those corner 3 shots are important to Houston's offense and to working with a C like Dwight Howard. Brandon Bass is blah in every respect.

My question regarding Lee's contract was not so much about why the Rocket's wouldn't value it. Like I said, it is a year too long anyway. I am asking why other teams would find it as undesirable as we do. Someone said picks would have to be given for someone to take him. i don't see why. He could start on a lot of teams and 5 mil a year doesn't seem unfair for that.

So he's saying Asik for Young straight up basically? I would think we'd get a pick from Celtics in that scenario at least!

Trading down for assorted junk isn't really Morey's style. Giving away Asik for Bass, Lee and a mid to late first rounder just doesn't sound right to me. If his hand was being forced in order to clear cap room then maybe but not in this situation. Now, maybe he thinks Bass and Lee are worth something on the open market or that he can flip them at the trade deadline... but those are just preliminary asset building moves and mean the Rockets would have to wait until the off-season to swing the big big big trade.

I feel you. I guess we will see how special the league thinks he really is. That's who will determine his value, not us.

Can't see an agreement happening today.

It is starting to get fun with all this smoke.

Bass, Lee and a 1st rounder

    He was talking about this:

Maybe Knicks, Suns, or Kings are the third team. We usually screw them once a season.

Omer is gone. That's fine. He can't work with Dwight Howard and it's a waste having him for 13-15 mpg anyway. It's for the best.

But getting worthless garbage in return for a top 30 player in the NBA is crap if you want to sniff the title and I think Morey knows this.

Brandon Bass is essentially Patrick Patterson without the 3 point stroke.

At this point I would probably rather just send Asik on the Royce White plan, and trade a 2nd round pick to Toronto for the real Patrick Patterson.

Asik put himself in this boat. Morey is obviously busting his arse to get deals done, but you can't damage the franchise long term with this kind of deal (if its really this bad… which I'm not sure of). Asik and his new Used Car salesman agent can figure out how to get out of his contract if they want out that bad.

Howard demanded Brandon Bass be traded when both of them played in Orlando. They traded Bass for Big Baby Davis.
