    Truth.

To unload Lee, you need to scarify at least a 1st.

Ken definitely has a Rockets bias. He wrote how it was a bad move leaving the Lakers. He's the one who reported that the Rockets are delusional for their asking price for Asik, now this. Nobody may want them but anything can happen in the nba. A team traded For Rudy Gay. Twice in a calender year.

J.R. don't listen and believe those fools.

If Minnesota is going to lose Kevin love for nothing would they take them.

    I think so!

Better than have your "thing" dangling in the wind.
If you catch my drift no pun intended.

I thought we were now less keen on flexibility and wanted to win now?? Go for the good impact player like Thad Young or Millsap!

Aaaaaaaand, you're getting special right now a month into the season and said special player you're trading is asking out?

You trade for a solid player who helps your front court PLUS an asset or two and you have the ability to go after a special player when they ARE available.

Source: Blazers not in mix for Asik

MINNESOTA -- The Portland Trail Blazers are not involved in any talks centered on acquiring Houston Rockets center Omer Asik via trade, a league source informed CSNNW.com.

Portland owns the best record in the NBA and team chemistry is a big reason why. Adding a talent such as Asik to the mix would be a risk not worth taking, another source who is briefed on the situation told CSNNW.com Wednesday afternoon.

Houston desires to bring in a power forward to compliment Dwight Howard before their self-imposed end of the week deadline they issued to teams interested in making a deal.

This Portland team has grown to love Robin Lopez for not just his play on the court, but for his perfect fit in the locker room. His intangibles on the court has helped taken LaMarcus Aldridge’s career to another level.

As of now, the Trail Blazers are standing pat as far as any major additions, we’re told.

If he was biased against the Rockets, he would be making this post AFTER A TRADE IS ALREADY DONE, not BEFORE WE LAND THESE GARBAGE!

Nothing new here. Woj just compiled a story from his tweets.

Boy if that is the trade that Morey ends up having to take than Asik's value REALLY took a nosedive since his little outbursts from this Summer.

Its funny though how all of these so called "expert" (ehhhemm… bloggers) are dogging on how bad Asik is and how he isn't really that valuable because they are literally getting bought into whatever rival GM's are trying to sell as general opinion about Asik to lower Morey's asking price.

-My guess here is this latest Woj deal he tweeted out (Bass, Lee & pick) is only part of the story. I would guess that since the Rockets would need to unload a player anyways, that Lee is not coming to Houston. Instead I would guess that they will try and move him 3 year contract to another team for another player coming back to the Rockets… that player probably on a larger 2 year deal.

Either way, this CANNOT be the entire trade because it simply doesn't work yet. If anything someone would either have to be included from the Rockets, or someone would have to be cut.

I agree with you, but realistically you cant have all 5 starters be "special" players. That would be a All-Star team. You can have 3 "special" players and two solid players that give you steady production.

Trades in Dec, when teams are not trying to rebuild, makes it more difficult to trade spcial for special. What I think he will do is move Asik in a deal that will set us up to get it on a special player at the deadline or this summer. So this deal may not wow you with a special player coming back, but it should keep us flexible to make a move later.

A good role player in Bass + Lin as the core of a package doesn't steal Love/Aldridge if they demand out. The Rockets don't hold the high picks or promising rookie deal players to sweeten this.

Lin right now has negative trade value. There's no trade market for him. It'd take picks or high upside rookie contracts just to move him.

Letting Lin's deal simply run its course isn't ideal. In that scenario the Rockets have ti choose between either Parsons or cap space on someone else.

Having the assets for a deal at this trade deadline or for 2014 gets both another big name and keep Parsons because of bird rights.

Like I said, Morey just has to find takers for Boston's trash and we'll get a first and a couple of seconds.

At the end of the day, In Morey We Trust.

Is Bass a big name? No but Morey has proven he knows what he's doing.
