Jeez, crazy to see the varying degrees of success...Ive barely had issues with the game...and the only time it has booted me to the home screen would be just a handful of times trying to do a Conquest game. All other game types, Ive had almost no issues other than one time when I tried to get into a domination game and it put me in a team deathmatch.
I recently bought Battlefield 4 for PS4 and it's fun. But one thing that my friend and I noticed is that it looks and feels alot like Call of Duty. Am I the only that notices this? I feel like the graphics look alot like COD and it's very fast paced. I loved BF3 for xbox 360, but BF4 is just different. I'm not enjoying it as much as i thought i would.
You mean Call of Duty looks like Battlefield...lol. COD could only dream of having the Frostbyte 3 engine. The reason you think it looks like COD is because the PS4 and the XB1 are running at 60 fps vs. BF3 on the ps3 and 360 ran at 30 fps, A nice PC could run BF3 at 60 FPS. COD keeps recycling the Quake 3 engine and updating it to improve the graphics somewhat while keeping 60 FPS....but not have some of the advance features like the Frostbyte 3 engine. Activision doesn't seem interested in investing money in a new Engine. At some point, they will have to or keep falling behind technology-wise. That cash cow will eventually run out of milk.
Yes, you're probably right. I was thinking of the same thing. BF4 runs on 60 FPS. This is my first time playing on 60 FPS. Never been a PC gamer, so 30 FPS is all i really know. lol
Your sentiments were actually shared by a large portion of the beta community. A lot of beta testers felt BF4 played a lot more like COD because of the high damage of weapons and how fast you died. I guess it hasn't made much of an impact on me, because I never played COD to compare to, but I do hate how it seems like I'll die in an instant after I get a damage marker.
Okay I feel like a newb regarding the battlepacks. I always opened them and assumed that the XP boosts started automatically but they don't. I just figured out how to turn them on and I have a nice stash of them now.
I don't know why people want weaker weapons and more HP. Counter strike gets it right in my opinion. CoD and Battlefield take too long to kill someone.
Yeah, took me a few days before I realized pausing and then activating them was needed. LOL. I thought they were automatic.
I've only played about a little over an hour but so far really unimpressed . BF has been my favorite game since it's start but this one just seems to have strayed from the realism aspect that's been it's appeal . Not liking any of the maps I've been on and the graphics seem to have taken a step back from the last title . Playing on the 360 and have frozen 2 times already . I was in one good game of conquest with some players that semi worked together and that was still a blast .. maybe it will grow on me but so far really disappointed
^I hate teamwork in this game lol. As bad as that sounds, in a squad-based game, my style is to flank in cover to get better position and wipe people out before they can spot me. When my team spawns on me, they end up shooting and giving away my position. Then everyone points their weapons on us and we die. As for the new PC patch, I don't like it. I end up getting the death animation before I realize I've been hit. Anybody else get that feeling?
You get them by achieving a certain level or when you get enough xp with a certain gun. They come with guns attachments, portraits, dog tags or XP Boosts. To turn on the XP boost, you have to go into a game and hit the start button. Look in the bottom right hand corner and you can turn it on by hitting a button.
i can't figure out how to spot ? in the controller set up it says hold RB , this brings up some options but i don't see a spot .. and if that's how you do it it will be to slow anyway .
another ? Whats up with the knife ? Seems to automatically come out if i get within 5 feet of an enemy ? I've been killed half a dozen times where I go to shoot and suddenly the knife is out and i'm nowhere close enough to use it .
do i really have to go on the net to switch guns/loadouts ????????????? how come i can't find this in game ?
