@KBergCBS: If Houston's goal is to repackage Bass and/or Lee in future trade before deadline, not very viable. "No one wants them," one exec said.

Thank you. Dude can knock down the mid range shot consitently. He will pull his defender away from the paint all day long. He can pick and pop all day long. He is a vet player and not going to try and play beyond himself. Would be a solid PF for us. Not flashy just solid.

Any big moves will come at the deadline or next summer so stop expecting a huge deal tomorrow. This is a 'set up the next move' deal for Morey, but we could still get a player to help us.

"Bass also tops the team in points allowed per possession, giving up 0.694 points per play, according to Synergy Sports data. That ranks him in the 90th percentile among all NBA players, but narrow it down to those with at least 150 possessions defended and Bass ranks fifth in the NBA behind only Roy Hibbert, Tiago Splitter, Serge Ibaka and Chris Paul.

Here's the more impressive number: Opponents are shooting just 34.6 percent overall against Bass this season."

^This is why I'd rather overpay for someone like Millsap. Quality >>>>>>> quanitity and Bass/Lee are just mediocre bench players that we'd be stuck with.

I thought Morey was asking for two first from the Bobcats and the rights to swap another. seems to be a far fall off.

Would give HOU a bit more versatility/insurance against injury (and a pick, perhaps). Not quite sure why BOS is super-interested.

Continued...... Lee would most likely go to another team while we also get picks sent from there to us, and we will be gettin Bass, who is very formidable, and is upgrade in every single area including defense, rebounding, and offense over TJones plus another pick from the Celts.

    Giving us..

Bass and possibly 2 first round picks, and to me, that is a win win win for a disgruntled, selfish punk who has driven his value down from the get go, and his enormous salary off the books. Just lay back and relax, dont the Rockets always win these trades anyways?

Could almost guarantee that source was from a team in the Asik sweepstakes.

I don't get the Bass hate, he's a REALLY solid player.

Every time I've seen him play, he makes a difference off the bench and he seems to always play big in the playoffs. He would make a great addition to this team playing the 4 or 5 behind TJones and Dwight.

Get another asset or assets (pick, foreign/young player) and you got a good, experienced rotational player as well as more to throw at potential trade partners at the deadline or beyond. Sounds like a damn good deal to me.

You have to give the other team a pick for taking on Lee's contract.

I keep seeing this said by a few of you and I wonder.....

Why is it yall are so convinced your opinion is the only one that matters?
Maybe if alot of others see something one way, and you see it another....maybe...just maybe it is YOUR opinion that is wrong.

FTR....Yes, Omer Asik is a VERY valuable player in a league that does not have many centers that are as good defensively as he is. Whether you think defense is worth alot or not, NBA GMs/scouts/coaches do value defense VERY highly because defense is what wins when it really counts.

The people I see who cant understand why everyone thinks Asik is so good when he cant shoot a jumper to save his life always seem to be the ones who dont value defense or even understand anything about defense short of blocks and rebounds.

Solid doesn't win you titles. Special does. Omer Asik is special. You only trade special for special. Giving up special for solid is sure way to waste Dwight Howard and James Harden's lives.
