I predict that when the deal goes down, everybody is going to be insanely pissed thinking we got ripped off, and in 6 months, everybody will be amazed at Morey's foresight when he flips assets for a star.

 

A lot of bs here, no way we take Bass & Lee's contracts for Asik + talent wise this is far from equal.

 

Bass is a good role player off the bench. I'm in the Wow because this guy has a great source if this trade goes down.

 

Then flip both picks and Bass to move up in deep draft. Scola says he ok.

 

I'm confused. Some here are saying Bass is terrible. Some are saying he's decent.

What's the deal?

 

Bass is a good floor spacer. He can consistently hit the 12-15 ft jumper. Could be serviceable off the bench. If we get picks with him i think that is a good deal. Just more ammo for another bigger move later on. Dmo and G Smith then moves to backup C.

I don't think this is a good time to catch a team wanting to make a major move. That comes at the trade deadline. We will be players then also, WITH picks to add value.

He's not a big name.

But he's a good overall defender, good mid range shooter

Game log portrays him as decent and probably better than T Jones currently.

46% fg isn't what I like but if he's close to fiddy with the Rockets, we'll take it.

 

Bass is not an upgrade over TJ, far from it so nothing to see here.

 

If thats all we get from boston then Morey has to be thinkin on the Portland

Keep in mind not everyone you read actually has good analytical skills.

Bass seems to have a good game everytime he plays the Rockets, but I dont watch him enough to say one way or the other...unfortunately, not everyone is as guarded in their assessments....they just blab whatever their off the cuff opinion is.

 

I'd rather have and develop Jones. Add me to list of "meh" if that is what we end up with.

 

From what I've seen from Bass, he is an above average jump shooter. Not a 3 point specialist at all but inside the 3. I can imagine PnR with Harden and Bass where Bass pulls up for a open jump shot.

The Boston Celtics have gained traction in trade talks to acquire Houston Rockets center Omer Asik, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The talks have centered on a package including forward Brandon Bass, guard Courtney Lee and a first-round pick, sources said. It's unclear if Lee will go to the Rockets or be routed to a third team.

Rockets center Dwight Howard and Bass played together on Orlando's frontline, but sources insist Howard was never enamored with the partnership.

Th Rockets have a self-imposed Thursday deadline to reach agreement on a trade for Asik.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks have faded significantly in conversations for Asik, sources said. The Philadelphia 76ers also have had talks with the Rockets about a possible deal for Asik.

Houston has been pursuing a power forward in the deal.

Houston general manager Daryl Morey wants a deal done before the end of the week, giving the Rockets the flexibility to trade whomever is acquired in a deal before the Feb. 21 trade deadline.​

 

Lee is a surprising name given his contract. I would've thought he'd take Bogan's 2yr fully unguaranteed deal.

 

He's a big that mostly takes midrange 2s. He's an okay player, but not really a good fit for our system, and he's probably less flippable than Asik is.

 

It is relative to what you are expecting. Next to TJones and DMo, he looks OK. Next to Love or LMA, he sucks.
