Boston owns the Nets 2014 first rounder. But they gave Atlanta the right to swap picks because of the Joe Johnson trade. So basically if the Rockets get it, we're really gonna get Atlanta's since they'll probably swap if things keep going the way they're going.

    Lee for Young?
    Howard / Smith / D-Mo
Young / Jones / Bass (can chip in a few minutes at C)
    Parsons / Young / Garcia

Yep -- he should. My immediate thought when I saw that Woj post was: Say what? Courtney Lee signed for near $6 million in 2015-16. Either Morey's computer says Brandon Bass is a megastud or they're getting a phenomenal draft pick from Boston. I don't think the 2014 one from Brooklyn is all that considering that Atlanta has the right to swap picks first.

What is tough in hearing Lee+Bass+Pick for Asik is that Asik is a difference maker. Lee and Bass are nice bench role players. But Morey can get those guys anytime he wants. I know the key is the 1st round pick, just hoped that the Rockets could get more of a difference maker on the player side as well.

Hopefully this is all just posturing.

Bass and Lee - sounds like a Dwight Howard approved deal!

All we need is for Orlando to buy out Turkoglu! Maybe trade for Jameer Nelson too?

Can't they only swap the Boston pick?

People might not be happy with Bass but the key is the first round pick the Rockets can throw into any deal at the deadline. Along with whoever they get.

Then may be we can flip Lin for Nelson and Casspi or Cisco for Rashard Lewis

If Morey values Thad Young over Hawes, then that means Morey feels Young is more "flippable" at the trade deadline. Because right now these are just assets in play for the larger push later on.

Nets gave the right to swap to Atlanta as part of the Joe Johnson trade

So when it comes time, either Atlanta swaps. Then we're drafting where Atlanta is. Or they don't swap and we draft where Brooklyn drafts.

I guess Morey is wondering if Philly would do Lee (they need a SG), D-Mo (to make up for Young), and Canaan (they need a PG) wound be enough for Young and either the right to swap second round picks or a pick straight up depending on the range.

Haws is overrated around here. Morey understands he is stat padding to get paid. He would not fin here at all. We have enough guys crying for minutes and playing for contracts as it is.
