    In that scenario, Asik going to Portland...Portland sending pieces to the 76ers...and Hawes coming to Houston.

    I know but it's not like Asik is some big time C. He's solid but don't be surprised when you don't get a lottery pick or a Millsap/Green unless you give up more.

    It would have to be for Robin Lopez and a lotto pick (higher one). I think that would be better than the Millsap and late first round draft pick from a "trade for third star" perspective. Morey really REALLY values flexibility and this trade is the ultimate flexibility trade (since Lopez expires soon, the trade opens up cap space, the pick is more liquid, and Robin could be flipped by deadline if need be as an expiring contract).

    Though, I agree. It does strengthen Portland's team... I do not think Morey thinks our current team will win without one more dynamic change,...

    Morey has always been the aggressor in trade scenarios.

    In this instance, it seems like there are about 5 teams trying to acquire Asik.

    Is it wrong for me to expect a great return, a return that is even better than a typical Morey one?

    I didn't. Players get better under Morey then do worst stat wise when leaving in most cases. Our offense puts up a lot of points and we play at a fast pace. No more easy baskets for Asik when he leaves us.
