I agree; many people are now taking chances on players from small schools due to Lillard. I think CJ was a lottery pick also if I am not mistaken, but it might be way too soon for Portland to give up on him

 

Good perimeter defender and spot up shooter? If they fit the bill, why not? I don't watch Cavs so I don't know, but doesn't Waiters have a reputation of being a chucker?

I agree. Trading them Asik hurts us in 4 ways:
1) We make them legit contenders by solving their defensive woes. They would go from the 4th to the best rebounding team in the league.
2) The Rockets would not get HCA for sure. There is a good chance we face Portland in the second round with the 1 vs. 4/5 match up (if we somehow manage to avoid the Clippers).
3) That's 2 more times Howard has to face Asik with something to prove.
4) We lose out on any possibility of Aldridge leaving Portland.

Do you guys not understand who Shumpert plays with? The dude barely gets any shots but he is NOT a bad offensive player at all. He could easily average 15 ppg on a team where he gets more shots....but I don't think he would get enough in Houston.

The fact that you think that Asik is a top 5 C shows how much you know. He is an offensive liability that has ZERO post moves or shooting ability, but hey atleast he makes up for that with lack of raw athleticism. He is however a plus defender and rebounder. But people on here act like we are trading Hakeem. It's Omer Asik for christ sake. Your not going to net Rondo, LA, Lilliard, etc, etc, etc... We will get a decent role player with an expiring and a lottery protected pick at best.
