HAHahahahaha. I read your post, and still assumed he was going to be traded, just not to the Rockets. Woj got me.

A draft pick 6-10 in this stacked draft where anywhere in the top 10 picks you could land a franchise star + a late first rd alone is enough value to get Rondo. Rondo is a star, but not on the level of Lebron/Durant or Dwight/Melo (I do not like Melo, but he has high value) or Love. Btw, I am a huge fan of Rondo.

Melo's value was that of a top 5 player in the LEAGUE and the Nuggets got The Nuggets get Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, Wilson Chandler, New York's 2014 first-round draft pick, Golden State's 2012 second-round pick and 2013 second-round pick along with $3 million in cash.

Dwight: Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, Moe Harkless Josh McRoberts, Christian Eyenga + future first rd pick
(at the time, Vucavic did not have the value he has now)

CP3: Eric Gordon (who was a back up waiting to explode), Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick to the Hornets

Rondo is no where near these players' status.

Those players are valued way higher than Rondo.

I agree. All the rumored players we're getting back in return is less than exciting. Hoping for a future pick or a couple we can move later.

Morey also likes to get lower in drafts. If we get a pick say in the 10 to the 14th range Morey will try to convert it to a pick in the 6 to 8 range where you can get a very good player.

He's kind of a quantum trader. We have a bunch of trades with various probabilities, but we won't know which one survived until he opens Schrödinger's/Morey's box of trades.

We can model things here on Clutchfans, but I don't think we have a big enough particle accelerator.

The only player I can seethe Bulls would be interested and we would be willing to give them in Lin. Explosive scorer like Lin could endup averaging 20 plus for them and make them better. Lin in the right team can be deadly.

not to be on a pro or anti doc rocket bandwagon...

BUT, the dwight scenario had very little to do with insider sources. Yes, maybe dwight was leaning one way from the get go, and continued to lean that way, and ultimately signed with that team (the Rockets), but absent doc rocket being in dwight's super inner circle, which nobody is trying to argue, doc's rightness about that had nothing to do with anything other than making a bet... which he and many others without his "inside" information were correct on.

I do know he has been right and first to the party on other deals before... but most of his rep comes from his inside position and knowledge from a fairly long time ago in basketball time. moreover, his shtick as an insider is kind of old... though i recognize some like it. LHutz used to be a similar character around here shtick wise... and it grew old, too, imo... good for a brief laugh, or in doc's case for 3-5 minutes of "oh, what does he mean"... but then kind of annoying.

He'd be a better and more valuable insider to this board if he had no shtick and simply said this is what I'm hearing... he could still be vauge about it if necessary to protect himself...
