Before Lin signed with the Rockets: 9 threads mentioning Parsons in the title (4 of them are about how handsome he is).

After Lin signed with the Rockets: 170+ threads mentioning Parsons in the title.

Obviously Parsons played really well last season and deserves increased attention from NBA fans everywhere, but some of you got to give Lin a little more credit for the exponential growth of popularity and exposure that Parsons receives in China now. Interest in the Rockets dwindled in China after Yao's retirement but the signing of Lin renewed it.

 

Les might own some shares but he is not an owner or has any decision making at Anta. If Les did then as the owner of the Rockets and Anta, I believe Parsons could not sign with Anta.

Otherwise this could be a way to manipulate the salary cap and get players to sign for dirt cheap and keep the cap space and no lux tax.

 

There was survey last month in the biggest Chinese website asking if you still watch Rockets if Lin got traded. Over 100,100 people answered. Among them 80+% people saying absolutely no. 10% said never watch anyway. So...

if you've never read a chinese sports forum then it's dumb to make a statement like that. if you don't think lin's signing has anything to do with the renewed interest in the rockets in china then you are in denial. or maybe you are salty because a role player like lin is so marketable globally that he can make other role players around him popular on the other side of the globe. parsons is known as jeremy lin's bff to chinese nba fans who don't watch the rockets regularly. beverley also became very well known and no it has nothing to do with yao. and i love yao.
