You were wrong, just admit it. You posted false information and got called out for it, then you tried to say you meant Lin, and you were wrong again.

K the extra first rounder can be replaced but still Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb we can't duplicate. Mind you the last pick in the lottery, Lamb was still a lottery pick. And Martin was a great trade piece at the time, especially for the thunder. They needed an experienced scorer and shooting guard, and he was in his final year so no commitment.

Morey might be able to get one, like trading asik for a low lottery pick, but we wouldn't have much to package that with.

 

That's so not true. Lin and Martin are very much players that are valued about the same. Lin actually would have less of a cap hold than Martin did, AND Lin would be expiring next season. So, check.

We still have our pick in a deep draft that could very well net us another Lamb (this year's draft... 20 is as good as last year's 12... with LESS salary). So, check.

Annnnd, we still have future first round draft picks. So, check.

Of course, the argument could be made with other players such as Parsons, Beverley, TJones, etc as trade bait.

Plus, this is how you acquire trade assets, by getting these draft picks. So, in a way you are saying, "since we do not have those kind of trade assets, we should not acquire those trade assets"

Plus, that trade netted us James freaking Harden.

Ultimately, the argument that this draft pick doesn't "help" us, is flat out wrong. Even if it isn't, how much is Asik helping us right now?

i dont know we really need a Big of the bench. I trust morey but i think NOW is the time to get something good for Asik. What would that 1st be packaged with come Feb? The trade bait Asik will be gone.

Keep in mind that Harden wasn't a star just yet and it was a very unique position where the team already had two stars.

People here are thinking a top 5 protected lottery pick, Jeremy Lin and a lot of late first rounders or second rounders will get us a Kevin love or Rondo

 

The big (not Greg Smith) off of the bench might net us an extra 3-4 wins for the season, whereas this pick could be part of a trade in the future that could net us an extra 10 wins and a deeper playoff run (championship).

Plus, I hate to bring up this, but Camby has been recovering and will be signed as plan C if we are unable to get a back up C by the time we need to address the issue.

Incorrect.

That quirk was only when he signed. Any team who takes Lin gets his cap at 8.XM like we have it.

 

It's incredible that we've had Lin/Asik for 16 months and people still don't get it.
