Hawes and a pick would be a haul considering the circumstances, which are probably the worst Morey has ever dealt with.

Royce? Having to send cash to cover the trade and a pick which we will never actually get

eh, this deal is a bigger mess just because of the talent and $$ involved, and obviously the circumstances. Royce White was a scrub, and doesnt even deserve a mention in these fourms anymore lol

Do those who demanding Milsap/Hawes really think the Rockets should go for legit PFs?
Yall think Morey should make a move which force T-Jones to go back to the bench and our backup SG/SF problem still to be unsolved, right?

This is much worse, because the stakes are higher.

Morey should be confident whatever deal he takes. His track record recently has been impressive and with his army of super army of statisticians should give him even more confidence

I think Milsap should start ( just because I think he is better than Jones in almost every aspect of the game) and Tjones should be the one coming of the bench as a energy guy, if we get Hawes, at first i would want him to come off the bench and i would want our starting 5 to remain unmolested. After a period of time, depending on how Hawes is performing we can think about interchanging tjones and Hawes in the lineup depending on matchup.

With Jones on the bench, Lin, Casspi, and Garcia could be our rational guys, (hopefully they get their shooting touches together)

Jones is 21 and has started less than 25 NBA games by the end of the year who knows how much he could have developed. I'd rather stick with him, I already like where he's at currently than where Millsap is at currently.

Plus all the cap flexibility of not taking Millsap's contract

If Morey nabs a 1st rounder and expiring contract and clears the cap for next season going forward, we could have the room for a max player to put alongside of Dwight and Harden with a 1st rounder puts our team in a enormous positive position.

Who really cares about cap flexibility for next year? If one was to stop and look at the big picture, he would see that the big name players dont really come out til 2015 anyways. Only Melo is gonna be the big name here, and we wont have enough cap space any how to sign him no matter what, plus ehhh its Melo we are talking about. People need to stop being delusional and stop thinking James is gonna opt, or wade (ewW) or even Chris Bosh. We need to keep our eye on the prize and thats LMA OR KEVIN LOVE in 2015. We can use fully this years salary cap and next years cap by taking in contracts that are 2 year long (nothing over that), especially if they are in the form of Milsap and his friendly $19 mil deal over two years. Makes us better instantly, and makes us serious players in the 2015 FA after Lin (if not traded) expires as well.

The reasoning behind volleying some expirings this year would be that morey wants the option to sign a max - near max player in whatever year he wants not just pegging in the summer of love/LMA as the only year, cap flexibility it is the sexiest thing the nba

I get your point, but too much cap flexibility means that you roster has holes in it (unless you are really lucky), and why have holes or max level cap space when the player you want to ultimately target doesnt come free until atleast a year later?.... With that cap space what are you going to do? Sign players to high one year contracts and act as rentals? No one is going to want to do that.

Thats why im shooting for Hawes and a pick or Milsap as #2 option. Hopefully its one of these moves, as the make the most sense moving forward as mentioned before.

Am I the only one that HATED Paul Milsap in the Utah series a few years ago? I just recall him killing us! :( would be nice for it to be in our favor finally.

C'mon dude..Millsap is a much better scorer in the post..It is absolutely absurd to say TJones is at the same level as Millsap.

I hate to commit to Youngs nine million multi year deal.Despite the rumors I doubt Morey has any interest in taking Young and wants a third team to take young.
